we'r back...

Postby pollR78 » 14 Oct 2013, 08:57

Well we came home early from Blackpool, we had a great time and done everything we wanted to do :D :D

We had planned to come home Tuesday but done Madame Tussaud's and the Tower yesterday and decided to just come home - the hotel was not what I expected at all!

Having been recommended it by a friend, I wonder what their rooms have been like, the people were lovely and the location was great BUT the room was not, it was just a bit bigger than a cupboard with a very long thin window, that you couldn't even see out, the toilet/shower room was tiny, the whole room was tiny and the headboard was all stained and disgusting - asked to move to another room with a bigger window but she was full, so just had to make do.

We went out on a illuminated tram (boat) on Friday night and done the illumination tour which was great, Saturday we spent the whole day from 930-8 in the Pleasure Beach then Pizza Hut for tea, and yesterday went out early and decided to go home.

Oh, we went up Blackpool Tower and walked on the glass floor, OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't look down, but I done it, I had to kneel down and go backwards without looking down so Amy could get a pic lol!!

All I can say is, no wonder the hotel was so cheap but having been recommended it, I stupidly thought it would be ok! Lesson learnt!! lol!

Will post some pics later,

Poll xxxx

Glad you and Amy had a nice time Poll but what a shame about the room. :(

For several years running, when we lived in the UK, we always took our lads to Blackpool for a few days to see the 'lights' and we always had a fantastic time. :D

I wish I'd known before and I could have given you the name of the hotel we always stayed at..it was smashing.

Glad it all went well and you enjoyed it, but what a shame about the room. That glass floor - you are very brave, there is no way I could do that.

Hiya Poll :D I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves :D :D

Shame about the room, but luckily you were busy and out all day, so just used it as a base - would have been awful if it had spoiled your break! (((((((((((((x)))))))))))))))

Glad you had a good time Poll and I bet Amy had a ball! That's a real shame about your hotel though, what hotel was it? We've been going to Blackpool for many years to dance, and it took us a long time to find somewhere decent. All we wanted was a b&b that was clean and quiet - in the early years we stayed in some horrible places. Then we found one that suited us perfectly, only for them to sell up about 18 months later - but they recommended their friends two doors down and we've been staying there ever since. The rooms and shower rooms are very small (we usually book a twin room for more space ;) ) but it's all spotlessly clean. The people who own it have been trying to sell for a couple of years though, so they can retire, so I don't know what we will do then, but nobody is buying anyway. We've brought a group of dancers over there the last three years, and last year one of our friends wanted to treat her pal for her birthday so she booked them into the Brittannia, that big red building at the North Pier, and she was very sorry she did because she paid twice what we all paid in our b&bs for a very poor room.

Did you go on the Big One????? I went on it last year, spent the whole ride with my head down and my eyes closed   Mostly we just divide our time between the Tower Ballroom and somewhere to eat - going on Thursday this week, really looking forward to it :kick:
