Rumbling the BBC .....

OK, it's Janet Daley, but ......

The BBC approach ....... is intended to offer an alternative vision of reality in which immigration is not a threat to anyone, patriotism is a joke, religious belief (as opposed to ethnic identity) is not taken seriously, conflicting cultural values never create social problems and government spending is inherently virtuous.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I agree with this article. Look at any mainstream BBC news bulletin. Every education story will be accompanied by pictures of happy, multi-racial, diverse classrooms (is that your experience of education today?), and any pupil interviewed will almost certainly be an ethnic. Almost every "expert" called up to pontificate in any field is a "foreigner". To say that the air-time given to the "benevolent" Islamic minority is excessive is no exaggeration - look at the recent reports on the Leicester house fire.

And we pay £145.50 a year to these people to brainwash us? You couldn't make it up. We're going to hell in a handcart.

It's what it chooses to tell, and the way it tells 'em.

It has been obvious for many a long year that the BBC cannot be trusted. It is not that it is openly this or that, politically, that is a problem. We can all see that and adjust our views accordingly. It is not that it is openly a supporter and advertising agency of Royalty, that is to be expected. No. It is the subtle things it does, the ones that go over most peoples' heads that are th problem.

No opportunity is ever missed to tell us an American story.... unless it is a negative one such as the shutdown or the debt limit, then it all goes quiet. No UK economic positives can ever be lauded, but any negatives will be endlessly analysed. Then there are its agendas: the immigration is positive one, the promoting of 'gay' one, the Islam one, the BBC "as" the news one..... and the running order of its news.

Over the past week some of the front page main stories have been:
1 The BBC leaking its own DG's speech, to include a section on the iPlayer
2. The iPlayer story
3. A follow up about iPlayer playlists
4. Dr Who's Yeti
Interesting? Possibly. Front page news? Never.

The BBC also has a propensity to place stories on its news page that turn out to be nothing more than adverts for its programmes. There will be the headline and the story, then at the very end a line saying something like 'Panorama will be shown on BBC1 at......' A search for the "story" on other news outlets will very often turn up nothing - not a word.

The BBC still has a few plus points. No adverts (apart from advertising itself, obviously!). Sometimes the adverts on Sky and Freeview go on so long I forget what I'm watching!
But as for the news coverage I agree with every word that's been said. A BBC employee (Andrew Marr?) said that the BBC had a cultural bias, and that's the truth. The news is massively slanted as to what gets shown, where in the running order it gets shown and how long it gets shown for.

The DM is my #1 on my ignore and avoid list. The BBC is close to running second.

I can no longer believe anything they say which revolves around the EU, immigration or multiculturalism. Especially as I have to cross check everything they say. In fact I usually see the BBC article on things I am interested after others. More often than not their position is not clearly in line with reality.

For me that is a real challenge. I recall the BBC being the most respected and honest media entity in the world. These are things which, once lost, can never be regained. Well at least in one lifetime.
