It might be possible, depending on the level of Luke's benefits, his needs, the property, the deposit required, and your ability to guarantee the loan.

Talk to a variety of mortgage providers. Seek out ones in you area dealing with long-term recipients of benefits, and talk to Shelter.

Shell, getting one in an area where Luke will be accepted for who he is is more important than just getting one. There are 'communities', but they are few and far between.

I'd like him to have a nice little bungalow, with a small garden.

I'm afraid I have no idea how it worked, but one of Dad's cricketer friends eventually had his own little bungalow, in some sort of development, in Worthing (I think).
He was paralysed so had round the clock care, but it was in his own place.
Do you have any sort of social/benefits advisor Mm?

A lot of the adapted bungalows on the shared ownership schemes are for the over 55's.

I think I am going to have to find a mortgage broker
