Necklines are my nightmare Ally
Having a small frame means a lot would be too baggy even without additional problems, I am paranoid about showing things you really don't want to be on show (the unnatural kind). The dusky pink flowery top is lovely, really nice-looking and comfortable too, I wore it yesterday.
Btw if all else fails the trick is to buy vests (NOT Gok shaper ones, but with just a little bit of elastane) in a size smaller than usual, then worn under a top they cover everything up. But it's not ideal as it's a layer you don't necessarily want.

I'm someone who doesn't do double layers..(my own personal 'thing' as I always feel slightly trapped iyswim?) and as it's usually nearly always warm here I can do without the added heat thing. But that's just me.

Your link has made me think of alternative..but still lovely..tops.

That's my problem too Ally, I absolutely hate the layers
I forget people don't know the actual details so 'scuse me if it's tmi for anyone When I had the mastectomy they wouldn't/couldn't do a reconstruction at the same time. You can always have one, but tbh it's an 8-9 hour operation and they're often not terribly successful
So I have a silicone one, which sits in my bra, usually a special bra with a pocket for it to go in. It's good and you wouldn't know which one it is. But if a neckline gapes, or is even a little bit low, I can't wear it. I wouldn't want anyone seeing what's down there, plus you see they remove all the tissue, so that side is completely flat above the top of the bra where the other side has padding so it looks wonky.

I saw another top yesterday though, there's on one the Tu site but also one in Peacocks, a sleeveless, high-neck top in cotton - hoorah! - with an embroidered bit round the neck, which would also be suitable for under a cardi or something.

3 or 4 years ago I spent days trying to buy a dress, I just wanted a nice summery dress. The last assistant who said to me 'it would be perfect with a little cami underneath' very nearly got camis shoved down her throat

Yes the white linen/grass mowing scenario was a bit of a disaster

I wear layers a lot, but can totally appreciate you wanting a top layer only, and one that is completely filled in Di xxxxx

Oh and about summer dresses Di, why does everything have to be sleeveless?? Even at my preferred lower weight and size I still don't like sleeveless dresses much, not on me anyway they look great on some other people I have a few cropped short-sleeved cardis that I pop on over the top.......
