with Luke. He had another prolonged seizure, we gave him his emergency medication, but instead of swallowing it, he chewed it Then we called 999. For once we got an ambulance instead of a Paramedic so we could go straight to hospital, last time we had to wait 2 hours for an ambulance.
Luke's seizure had about stopped by the time he got to hospital but he still seemed really confused. He said hello to me but didn't seem to really know who I was. Then after they moved him into resus, and were getting him to shuffle onto a proper bed, I was telling the nurse his history he suddenly shouted "mum, come here please" I was so relieved, I was even thrilled to hear him say "mum can you put my nail in the bin" I did feel for him when they did his bloods. But at least it was quick, Tim held his arm and I cuddled him tight, We aren't PC like 42, the Dr said shall I explain and Tim said no, just do it. Plus they listed to us and had everything ready when they came in, all the needles drawn up, etc, 42 don't think of things like that.
Luke made me laugh, as before it all kicked off he had just asked what was for pudding? I said crumble and put it in the oven, then everything went pear shaped. Five and half hours later, after everything, he walks into the kitchen and says "can I have my crumble now" so he had two bowls of pear and ginger crumble with ice cream.
Luckily we ended up in resuscitation, so we were away from the drunks. But the paramedic did say, you should be ok in here, but they do use it if they get full. Just before Luke was due to go for his x-ray they brought a drunk in. He was shouting and wailing and I sat with my fingers in my ears. Bruno, our nurse, came and said to Tim "whats the matter?" So Tim said she doesn't like drunks, he said he has 3 people with him don't worry, then the porter came to take us to x-ray and I had decided I wasn't going but then with drunk man wailing I said I don't know what to do? So he said whats' the problem so I told him and he said "you come with us, we rarely get drunks in X-ray only those with severe head injures and they are generally unconscious. So he said you walk this side, behind me and I said 'no its ok I'll run" so he said ok, first on the left see you there When we got back, Bruno said "don't worry he's gone" Phew
The paramedics show me different ways out and let me use their toilet. I must look absolutely terrified as they all say "are you ok"
Oh and our Dr sound just like Will Young
