36 watchers and no bids

We're selling the fireplace. At least we are trying to sell the fireplace.

It isn't the best of pictures -my plan was to clean it and make it all sparkly, move all the nick nacks off it and then take a few shots from different angles. Problem was my lovely husband decided to rip it out without telling me and therefore not giving me the chance to do that. But it still looks okay.

We have 36 people watching it but no bids yet. It has another 3 days to run. Fingers crossed it sells as I am sick of seeing it standing against the wall (in pieces) in the dining room.

It's a very nice fireplace, looks like one we had in our Swindon house 8-) Those watchers might well be waiting for the last minute - fingers crossed! XX

Ah!

I totally misread that heading as "36 watchers and no birds"

... and wondered if I was going to read you'd seen a pair of golden eagles over the Heights of Abraham, Debih, but they'd flown off before the twitchers arrived ....

We had one like that in our old house - I sold it for a lot more than that Debih. And this was 20 odd years ago - or has the market changed?

Is there a fireplacey shop near you?

Well, it looks as though it is sold.

We had 46 watchers and 1 bid of £75 with 1 day left to go. The person that had the one bid on was a registered seller which fine, I wanted to sell the fireplace but would rather it go to someone that was going to use it rather than sell it on.

Then about an hour ago I had an email from someone asking if we would do a deal on it. She has just taken on a shop (not sure what sort) and wants to put original fittings back into it and had found some green tiles on the floor when they opened up the fireplace so thought our fireplace would be perfect. Fair enough, she might be spinning me a yarn but I now have this romantic picture of my lovely fireplace having pride of place in a little cake shop or yarn shop so I'm happy.

She offered us £150 which we're happy with so we accepted it and I've withdrawn it from sale. She said she could come and fetch it some time next week - she's from Stoke on Trent - so just need to arrange a time.

If for whatever reason she doesn't have it I will just relist it again.
