Afternoon all!
It's dull, windy and cooler here today. I've been to the gym, done some shopping and then dropped my gym bag and shopping into the kitchen before heading straight back out again to take Billy for a nice long walk. I feel a bit sinusey today so shall now have an easy afternoon...I think! I know there'll be some ironing to do later though, the washing is whizzing around in the garden.

John's had terrible toothache for the last couple of days. He lost a bit of a filling on the day before we went to Cornwall, he called the dentist straight away but they close on Friday afternoons so when we got back he made a regular check up appointment as he was due one and the tooth wasn't giving him any problems, the earliest he could be seen was early October. Anyway, he's had hardly any sleep the last two nights, it's been awful and painkillers haven't touched it, so he got an emergency appointment for this morning. The dentist said he could try and save the tooth with a crown and possibly some root canal work or extract it. He's chosen to have an extraction so had a temporary filling at this morning's appointment and a further appointment was made for late October.
What I should say is that John passed out in the dentist's chair 3 or 4 years ago, whilst having prep work for a crown, and has been terrified of having treatment ever since.
He just called and was telling me all of this and how scared he is about it all when his office phone rang and he got me to hold while he took the call - the dentist has a cancellation for 2pm this afternoon so he can have it done today. He's absolutely petrified but I think it's better to get it over and done with rather than worry about the impending appointment for the next month. I fully expect a call after 2 though from the receptionist to inform me that he's flaked out in the chair again!

Have a good day everyone!

Afternoon all, it's a bl**day dreary miserable day here, if it's not raining it's wet, yuck yuck yuck. I have had washing out on the line since yesterday and it can stay there because it's wetter now than I put it out  Thankfully none of it is required for our holiday. Michael is here today, he and Grandad are currently watching the golf from Scotland because it is too wet for them to play golf in the garden. Glad to hear that Bb's eye is improving all the time, and Jo, I hope John gets through his dental appointment without passing out! Hugs for all other poorlies, and have a good day everyone :)

Oh poor John!!! :( :( I used to be nervous enough to almost pass out, but am better now. Still hate it though, and I have my new bridge on Monday to look forward to :?  ((((((((((((((((((John)))))))))))))))))))))))))) xxx

Osc only three days to go - how exciting!!!! :D

I've had a lovely day out, have bought lots of nice Winter plants - pansies, violas, some lovely big plants with spiny leaves for the big pots down the side of the house - some ivy for my hanging baskets, some bulbs for Spring - Narcissi, tulips, crocus etc.......

Oh and a squeaky piggy toy for Madam Woofy

We had a nice lunch too, just a salad baguette but very nicely presented, and then when we got back D and Aunt J came in for a cuppa......Good job the house was nice and tidy and hoovered as Aunt J hadn't been here before and D offered her the guided tour    :D

Oh and when D took off her jacket here, she realised she'd forgotten to pay for a fridge magnet :o She'd popped it into her pocket in the garden centre as it was threatening to fall through the gaps in the trolley! Only £1.75 but she was all for turning the car around and driving back to Newent until J and I talked her out of it. I suggested she put £1.75 into a charity box somewhere, to lose the bad karma ;) 8-)

Jom - Tell John this is my way of coping with a trip to the dentist. I've used it since I was a lad.

On my way to the dentist I tell myself that in half an hour or so I will be on the return journey and it will be all over.,
and, no-one can stop that passage of time.

Keep thinking that all the time, and when it is all over, you will be the winner.
