Darjeeling is gorgeous Jo. So is that little girl you are looking at Kaz. In your situation though I would go and look in the fur so to speak and maybe take Pepper with you, if that is allowed? Perhaps she could choose her own friend, like Maurice pig used to choose his wives

Yes, when we've been to Dog's Trust there's often been dogs being introduced to potential new doggy friends. From what I remember they like all of the family who the dog will live with to meet them before you can adopt them too. They come out and do a home check as well.

I keep looking at Darjeeling but no, I don't think Billy would like to share his home - and our laps

Oh I do like the look of Mittens Kaz. :D :D :D

When we were on the train in Brum last month Jo we passed the Birmingham Dogs Home. :D
Is that where you got Billy from?

Leilani would love to get a dog but knows it wouldn't be fair as her and Craig spend many hours out and also like their holidays.

It does sound good doesn't it?!

Billy came from Dog's Trust at Shrewsbury, Ally. We looked at Birmingham Dog's Home and their other place, Sunnyside, which is just on our side of Wolverhampton but they have mostly Staffies (I'd say that probably 90% of dogs at both homes were Staffies) and as lovely as they can be a) you don't know how they've been treated and trained to react to situations by previous owners who, let's face it, are usually chavs who have them taken off them or just abandon them when they get fed up and b) I know it sounds snobby but I couldn't walk around the streets with a breed of dog that's so strongly associated with chavs

I wouldn't have one at all Jo, especially not a rescue, they need experienced owners from puppies.
Sadly all the bigger rescue centres are full of them :(
