The murder of Daniel.

Postby KateLMead » 17 Sep 2013, 16:28

Council. Social Services. The Police, Teachers. Neighbours did no more than they did with baby P. And the little Columbia girl who met their deaths in agonising circumstances, as have God knows how many others who we hear nothing about.

WE HAVE LESSONS TO LEARN. (SCREAM!!!!)

Shame on the lot of them, the police had been called numerous times to the mothers house, I would fire the lot of those who ignored this little boys misery from the top to the bottom of the rung who bleat they have lessons to learn.. No One takes responsibility for this little boys death any more than they do when other babies and youngsters meet their deaths under horrific circumstances. Why should we pay for their comfortable cells for this evil couple, with TV, computers, sports, good food doctors and dentists on hand. Give them an injection to put them to sleep "forever" Hospitals have been doing this on the NHS for years to the elderly,

I have been looking at this today, Kate, and it is the same old whitewash hogwash. We have heard it all before "critical lessons" must be "translated into action"; "agencies not talking to each other"; case workers being "over optimistic". An earlier review of over two hundred cases came up with the same findings....... yet nothing ever gets done.

And when those at the top who took no action get found out they leave with huge payoffs.

The system is sick and badly broken.

Yes, the SS were too quick to write the case off / look the other way. Yes, millions of pounds have been wasted and will continue to be wasted on the "Safeguarding Children" setup.
But.
The BBC got it right today ( :o ) when at the end of the story the reporter said "Perhaps there is no system that can protect every child".
Yes, it's stating the obvious, but it still needs to be said. There is NO way of protecting every child 100%, none. What are we going to do? Take children away from parents at the first hint that there might be a problem?
Number one, the SS can't get that right 100% either, so there will be children ripped from loving homes and thrown to the tender mercies of the "care" system.

The people who are responsible for the child's death are the people who killed him. Yes, the SS in Coventry may be just as Bl**dy useless as they are in many other places, but they didn't kill him.

To be honest, the destruction of the traditional family has a lot to do with it. A lot of the poor children ill treated and worse seem to be ill treated by a fleeting male passing through their mother's chaotic life.

Maybe we should do away with the social services for children altogether and put the responsibility for children's well being back where it belongs - with their parents.

The fact is that the appropriately named SS do remove loved and cared for babies as the mother is considered of low intelligence, there was a shockingly distressful case only a couple of weeks ago the mother and her husband being restrained by the police who attend when babies like this one are snatched the hysterical mother and her husband were shown on video.i was sickened and Outraged..My daughter who has Tuberous Sclerosis was considered as a youngster to be of low intelligence, I was furious when I saw this stated on her medical notes, and I played merry hell..this assumption was due purely to her genetical condition, those severely inflicted with this horrendous illness are often so, but there are however like my daughter who are clever. she was UK and N Ireland manager for a company nurturing, counselling, getting women with babies back into studies or work, 36 houses throughout UK that she supervised. It is too easy for idiots to label individuals who may indeed have learning difficulties, they should not be judged incapable of loving and caring for their offspring

Cromwell, you gave the reason why that cannot happen with the most vulnerable in you previous paragraph.

Cromwell wrote:To be honest, the destruction of the traditional family has a lot to do with it. A lot of the poor children ill treated and worse seem to be ill treated by a fleeting male passing through their mother's chaotic life.

These are not "parents" they are ships in the night. Unless we go down the Eugenics route they will always be with us and others will have no choice but to step in. However, when the authorities do step in it has to be done with a certain amount of cynicism and a priority to protect the child. I agree that no system can ever be 100% perfect, but at the moment the it is not fit for purpose. There have been so many tragedies that some of the lessons should already have been learnt, but apparently not. Today there was another case in Wales - the death of a six-week-old baby at the hands of a 32 yr-old thug.

I am watching police patrol at the moment, shocking behaviour by young drunks with the police taking the gently gently approach to their actions. Pubs open all hours, being drugged up is part of the fun.
This is half the problem and the police making light of their behaviour, these are the parents of the future generations

Two reports this morning highlight the ongoing problems.

The first, by Ofsted, shows that 17 of 50 councils judged to be inadequate are still failing to meet minimum requirements. This begs the question: Why haven't those running the failing agencies been removed and replaced? Letting things slip to the point where the system becomes inadequate is bad enough, but to continue to allow that state of affairs is a management failure and should be punished.

The second, by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, says that officers needed to be trained to be "more assertive" when dealing with "domestic violence" issues. Further training!? Assertiveness should already be at the core of a police officer's basic tool kit!

The saying "We have lessons to Learn" "Nothing to do with" me is endemic"
We only need to look at the sickening hospital shambles, no one taking responsibility for NHS failures. These chancers don't get fired they get promoted.
There is nothing to be proud of in this country any more, it's run by chancers for chancers.
