Grrrrrrrr

Postby debih » 13 Sep 2013, 08:54

I have had a right moaning morning.

First of all it was Orange. My sister renewed her contract back in June and had a new phone. She told S that she could have her old one. I took it to a shop to get it unlocked from orange (S is with Tesco mobile) but the shop said that they couldn't do it and we would need to get an unlock code from orange. As it was my sisters contract she needed to do it. She rang them on 9th July to ask for it. On 26th July they charged her £20.62. The code still had not come so she rang and chased it. I kept hassling her to hassle them and at the beginning of last week I lost my temper with her and told her I would do it myself so she gave me all the info.

I have rung them (pretending to be her) three times and each time been told that they would sort it out and it should be emailed to me within 48 hours. Today I completely lost it. When I last rang I said I wanted to complain if it didn't come this time and the man gave me an email address for their complaints department. It still hadn't arrived as promised yesterday so I emailed the complaints department - only to have an automatic reply saying that they are currently upgrading their systems and that I couldn't complain by email and needed to ring their customer services department.

So I rang again and got poor Felicity! She was actually very helpful and spoke to her manager who told her to email everything through to him and he would escalate it to a complaint and look into it. She has also credit my sister back the £20.62 fee.

I will not hold my breath though - I still have to get the code emailed through to me. I knew it was going to be a slog getting the code from them when I googled it right back in June and saw all the different forum threads complaining about getting an unlock code from orange. Poor S had said that she wanted a new phone for her birthday but then decided not to when my sister gave her this one.

And then, to top it all, whilst I was on the phone to orange I have had a message left from British Gas cancelling the service I had booked for this afternoon. This is the third time they have cancelled the appointment, each time ringing in the morning when they were supposed to be coming between 2pm and 4pm. So some poor woman has also got it in the neck from me about my having to organise my day around their engineers who then ring at the last minute to cancel and don't have the courtesy to leave a decipherable phone number for me to ring them back.

God help the chimney sweep if he doesn't arrive as planned at 12.30 today.

Debih you're quite right to moan, sometimes everyone else is incompetent all on the same day; I'm very patient but when that happens they get it from me too :D

She's got a cheap phone now Saundra and wants a nicer one.

I refuse to give in. I don't care how long it takes and how much battling I have to do - the phone belongs to my sister, she has paid for the unlocking code and therefore paid for a service. I intend on making them deliver that service.

totally agree; it's very uncalled for and totally unacceptable customer service. I also wouldn't let this one go

Abel and Cole have just got it in the neck now.

About 4 months ago I was given a free voucher to try one of their fruit and veg boxes out. I did and it was okay but I thought very expensive for what you got. I don't usually buy organic fruit and veg so the fact that you were paying slightly more for that was completely wasted on me.

They rang me a week later to get feedback and I told them that although the fruit and veg were okay I thought it was expensive for what it was and I wasn't very happy that although I told them to leave it in the shed he had left it on the front doorstep and the box and all the contents were soaking wet as it had rained heavily. I said that although I liked the convenience of having it delivered I wouldn't be having it again as I could get double the amount of stuff for the same price or less if I went to the market. So thank you but no thank you.

Since then they have rung me at least once a month to see if I would like to take advantage of their special offers, as well as email me and post flyers to me. I can ignore the flyers and delete the emails but the text messages and phone calls were bugging me and each time I told them to politely go away. Last time I told them to delete my details from their records and not phone me again, which they said they would.

And then they ring me again today. Talk about catching me on a bad day. I have told them that if they contact me again I will consider it harassment and will make a formal complaint about them.

Right. Who can I have a go at next today. Bring it on..............
