that's a new one for me - soaking in salted water. Does it not affect the flavour of the berries?

I don't soak them in anything, just dump them in a colander and give them a quick rinse under the tap :oops: :D

My Mom's always done that, it's to get rid of any tiny worms that may be hiding. I've never noticed any difference in the taste afterwards as long as they're well rinsed.

Ah, thanks Jo, that does make sense. I would just soak them in regular water, but adding the salt would be more effective :)
