Morning Ally, morning everyone

Congratulations :kick: :kick: :kick: Ally, Don and boys xxx

Gorgeous morning here - just been for a lovely walk, down to the beach, back to check the losing lotto ticket

And noticd the "I love your house, would really want to buy it, just need to sell......and would be so disappointed if it went before I could get the money together" people are back. Wonder what excuse this time??

Not doing much today, a bit of pootling, I suppose and cooking a chicken and mushroom pie for dinner - fed up with bbq's, salads, need somethings else

Enjoy your celebration, Ally, have a hug from me xx

And for the rest of us, have a great day too xxx

Morning :)
We had a tiny bit of rain last night - after we'd finished bbq'ing though - and not enough to even damp the garden. It was a bit cloudy when I got up but lovely and sunny now :D
The man on Tv has just told us it will be sunny but cooler and fresher this weekend but next week warmer again, isn't it wonderful? :D

Bb's going out to work quite early and I shall be doing lots of baking :)
Congratulations Ally and family :)
Have a good day all

Morning everyone :)

Congratulations Ally to you and your boys, enjoy the celebrations :D :kick: :kick:

Ton I'll have fingers crossed that they aren't wasting your time again! XX

Di I'll be cooking later too  Pasta sauce for the freezer, I have a *ton* of tomatoes, courgettes and peppers from the greenhouse at D's and will be picking more later..........bought a huuuge roll of freezer bags yesterday, plus onions and garlic and I have herbs in the garden still...... I think actually I'll cook it up, process half into pasta sauce and leave the rest chunky, like a ratatouille :)

Before that though, I expect Mick and I will be taking advantage of being just us and nipping out for a relaxing lunch 8-) :D

Hope everyone has a nice relaxing day xxxx

morning all :)

The sun is shining which is lovely, although it was a bit cooler yesterday :(

We are off to Amy's swimming lessons in a while, bumped into a friend from school there last week, her son had just started swimming lesson, so had a good chat and said we would see each other this week, was really nice as we haven't seen each other probably since 1994! eek!

After swimming we are popping up to my best friends for a coffee and then going to meet her husband at his golf club and have lunch with them which will be nice!

Oh, I done my 2 day corporate induction on Thursday and Friday which was fine, lots of information and uncomfortable chairs lol! Met some new friends though and will hopefully see them again at another training thing I have to do, all newly qualified nurses in Scotland have to do a programme called 'Flying Start', think its main aim is to support them in their new role and the transition from student to accountable nurse, sounds good :)

So 1st day at my job on Monday :) exciting!! Just can't wait for my registration to come through, at the moment I will be working as a Band 2 - healthcare assistant - hopefully by the end of September I should be on the 'register' ;) Really good of them to take me on, one other student is having to wait until his registration comes through before his job will let him start!

have a good day all

Morning all, it's another lovely day here, sun and clouds and although autumnal, it's still quite warm. I'm going for a walk shortly, then will come back and get ready for a family get together in Mr. Osc's sister's house down the road. Not that keen on his family's occasions but they have to be done, and Miss Osc, her hubby and Michael are going so I like to see Michael with his cousins. No first cousins on our side for him, but lots of second cousins - not that he pays much attention to them, he tends to be a bit shy! Then he is coming back with us to stay the night as his mummy and daddy are having a night out. So no time to do any h/work ;) Enjoy your celebrations, Ally! Have a good day everyone :)

Afternoon all.

I too have been making pasta sauce this morning - using up the glut of courgettes/marrows from the allotment. Five down, five to go so I guess I will be making more tomorrow. The three freezers are full to bursting point and Mick has just announced that we have a lamb coming soon!!!!!

Off out this afternoon to the cinema for S's party. She had her best friend stay over last night and I am picking two more friends up later and taking them and L (Mick is taking her as I don't have room in the car) to the cinema in Chesterfield to see the new One Direction movie. They are all hyper about it.

Whilst they are in there (there is no way I am watching it) Mick and I are going looking at cars. He has bought a new van - one of these VW Transporters and will be fitting 3 extra seats in it shortly. That means that we will use that when we go away on holiday so I don't need the big Subaru estate car so we are looking at our options. Do we sell both the car and the Landrover privately and then buy something privately or do we look at part exchanging both cars for something new. Neither of them are worth very much. I fancy a Golf or Focus or something similar - 5 doors and room for the dog in the back.

Then back to the cinema to collect the girls to come home for pizza and birthday cake before they have a night of watching dvd's and screeching. I have my ear plugs ready.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!

Afternoon :)
Just stopped for lunch so thought I'd pop in :)

Good plan Kaz, after all either way is also nice on eg chicken, not just pasta. Lovely to have all that in the freezer :)
Have fun Debih - with the cars, at least ;) It's tricky finding a smallish car that will take a normal-sized dog, our little estate is perfect (It's a Peugeot 206), only the size of a car so really easy to park but nice for Minnie in the back.
Hope it goes ok Osc, and you do get Michael as a reward:)

Well, one coffee & walnut and one cherry & coconut traybake done, 12 big cupcakes and 30 mini-ones. One lot of icing made. Next to cut out yellow flowers from some of that fondant icing I had for the guitar cake.
The big cupcakes are orange and will have lemon curd icing so are getting yellow flowers on top. Can't do piping as they'll be too difficult to pack and transport.
The little cakes are vanilla, I think just plain glace icing and little sugar stars on those...
Then some spicy veggie pasties to make, and once the tins are free, flapjacks I think :)
