It is a fab thing to do Molly, can get a boat trip from South Queensferry :) last time we went to Inchcolm Island, was fab :)

It is also amazing to go over on the train isn't it - done that a few years ago with Amy, went over to Dunfermline shopping, its a great experience, must do it again soon :)

Aparently the glass lift takes you to the top of the bridge, scary enough, but to get to the viewing platform you have to walk the extra 100 feet up.

Other countries make the very most of their engineering landmarks, why shouldn't we?

I have been over the Golden Gate bridge, and you know what, it's a bridge. It bears no comparison to the Humber Bridge (once the World's longest) but which is the more famous?

The Emley Moor TV tower is Europe's tallest stucture. Have you ever heard of it? Prolly not, yet the Germans make a fortune out of the Fernsehturm tower in Berlin.

yeah your right WM, they should make something touristy out of it, I just heard a while ago on the news here about it, saying they think it should be ready by 2015, oh my, still don't think I could do it, 20 years ago, I would have jumped at the chance!

I saw this on the telly. It looks a fantastic piece of engineering.

I wouldn't mind going up, providing the weather was calm.

i think i would give it a go.

here we have a glass floored viewing platform built out from the top of a cliff and it's 2,000 ft straight down to the beach !

If they do It I'm sure that I'll probably go there in the end.

But, personally, I'd prefer they fix the problems with the Forth Road Bridge instead.

They are going to build a second forth road bridge too. I guess that will bring in loads more people as well.

I used to come in on the Rosyth ferry from Zeebrugge and you got a really good view of both the rail and road bridges. Sadly that is now only freight....

Me too, well half way because I got a bit panicky. I really don't like walking on bridges.
