Lets worry mum again time

Poor Mowgli, he's having a rough time of it.

My old cat now has diabetes, a degenerative spinal problem and also has either dementia or some other neurological disorder( numerous tests haven't found the solution) and I know I worry about her and have even googled her symptoms-scaring myself into the bargain!

I've now stopped the googling and go with what the vet says...my mind is easier and Candy is more comfortable.

MM, do you have a PDSA near at hand. They do some wonderful work with animals and I really rate the care they give to animals.

Try to stop the googling-it will just worry you.

Thanks Shaz and I do try not to google. Sorry to hear about your cat, they are a worry.

I have made a vets appointment for tomorrow night, as it bled quite a lot in the night. I heard him sneezing, but didn't wake up enough to check and there was quite a patch of blood on the pillow this morning. To be honest I truly feel the nose bleeds are secondary to the sneezing and that is how I am going to present it tomorrow. We need to stop the sneezing, we don't need to CT scan the nose.

I do have a wonderful vet, so that isn't a problem but the money is

Right well Simon remains convinced the sneezing isn't allergy based, but I am not so sure. He thinks Mowgli carries the herpes virus, as he had cat flu twice as a youngster and something has triggered it to flare up as a nasal irritation. He is happy to leave alone for now, but would like to try an injection of antibiotics that last two weeks if it gets worse. But as he said even if they work, it will probably still come back but at least we will know. If they didn't work, then a CT scan would cost about £150 so not too extortionate

They definitely are a worry MM but they give so much in return,eh?

My old Candy is such a loving cat...possibly the nicest tempered cat I've known. She has never once hissed/spat/scratched in anger and I just hate seeing her like this.
In contrast my other cat is a nasty, moodly little git who is still full of life and mischief.

Thanks Shaz. Mowgli is another lovely natured cat, that loves my son who has special needs, Mia on the other hand HATES him with a capital H and more.

To be fair though the pair of them are so lively at the moment, chasing each other and sounding like a herd of elephants when we are sitting downstairs and they are up.

Simon my vet was pleased with the pair of them. Their weights are steady, they are looking good and I think Mowgli's nose is just going to be a nuisance

The two week AB shot to start with sounds like a good idea, fingers crossed it does work. And I really would have thought the CT scan would be more than that - I'm actually impressed.

Shaz, I have to ask (and sorry Shell, slightly off topic) - what colour is your moody git LOL - I'm guessing tortie?

Lol Meriad, that is the strange thing- the moody git is a tabby who looks very like a maine coon, whilst the great natured one is a tortie. The vets are always astounded when they see how docile the tortie is!

Thanks Jo, but Mia has decided not to eat today I have opened a tin of Hills A/D prescription diet just to see if that would tempt her and it did. I am not sure she should eat it with her kidney problem, but at least I know she will eat if the right thing comes along, just need to find it.
