If more parents spent just a little time teaching their children to cook (just like Debih and probably most of us on here have) there might not be the sadly lacking cooking skills of alot of youngsters these days..but that's a whole new thread. ;)

Your meal sounded lovely Deb. :D

On the tv last week a lad of about 20 was saying he'd never even made himself a cup of tea!

I taught all my 3 the basics..eggs, pasta, rice, chicken, etc and always said if they knew how to 'use them' they'd always be ok for cooking for themselves.
It's not rocket science is it?
I don't hold any store when people say they 'can't cook!'

Craig's turned out to be a really good cook I must say. :D :D
I've even got a couple of his tried and tested recipes.

There's a whole generation of people growing up on brown and beige food!

Chips, chicken nuggets, fish fingers - anything that comes put of a packet. It's really sad.

Great description, if rather sad.

At least your girls will not be falling into that trap Debih, and good on you for giving them the tools to avoid it. They are already more accomplished at cooking than a lot of parents.

. ..... and forget sitting at the table to eat too

We had steak, meat one for him and veggie for me, with chips, peas, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. Homemade apple and blackberry crumble with custard, for pud :D
