Cautiously optimistic

Postby debih » 15 Aug 2013, 10:56

We are back from the hospital.

The op went well. The membrane, which had built up with all the procedures he has had over the years, has been removed and was as thick as a piece of leather. The doctor also removed scar tissue from the retina. The cornea graft still looks good.

He is now on different eye drops which he has at meal times - which will be life changing for my mum who has spent the last five years doing drops on the hour, every hour from 8am to 10pm.

There is no guarantee of success and if he does get sight they don't know how good it will be but if it has worked he should expect to notice changes within a week!
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!

Oh that sounds really optimistic Debih - I do hope he starts to get some sight back soon, and those drops sound much better for your mum's sake as it must be very wearing for her doing them hourly {{{{{{{{{{vibes}}}}}}}}}}} xxxx
