Thanks everyone.
I am not 100% sure what this op is for. The consultants say that the cornea transplant has worked but there is some sort of film behind it. They have tried to break it down with laser treatment but it was not working fast enough so they are operating tomorrow to remove it. But it runs the risk of damaging the cornea transplant.
This is it - if this doesn't work I don't think he will have anything else done. He's had enough now. So tomorrow is make or break.
He is supposed to be having it done as a day patient, although last time he had a general anaesthetic he didn't react too good and they ended up keeping him in so I have told mum to take his overnight bag just in case. We have to be there at 8am and once he is settled mum and I are going to get the bus into Derby and have a wander round for a while.
I'll let you know how it goes once I know.
