Nostalgic afternoon

Postby Osc » 11 Aug 2013, 18:16

One of the jobs that I said I would do when we retired was sort out our photos and get them into albums - life being what it is of course, I never got around to it.....until today when the mood just took me. So I spent most of the afternoon going through loads of photos, trying to remember the years and putting quite a few into albums, throwing away those I didn't want to keep. I've reduced the pile right down and enjoyed the memories - I do miss hard copy photos, I have to say. I always intend to print off a few of the digital ones but of course it doesn't happen. The afternoon passed very pleasantly indeed!!

Definitely!
We bought some new cupboards the other week for in the study so I was finally able to unpack the boxes of photo albums which had been under our bed. I had a lovely afternoon looking through them.
I do get digital copies printed, I usually wait until there are quite a lot and get them done at Asda.

It's definitely a job you need to be in the mood for, I've done quite a lot, and ditched a whole load, but still a lot to do.

Also, it's niggled me for a few years that there are no photos of me after the age of about 15, then it dawned on me they'd be slides...no idea if they've been kept or thrown away (by she that has control) :?

That's lovely Osc :)

Z and I spent a lovely couple of hours yesterday sorting through my mum's old photos - she was so happy to see them, and we found lots of our mutual grandmother and her mum (who sadly passed away aged 55) but we both managed it with smiles and no tears.....The first time I've made it through the whole lot as I found it upsetting before. Now I know I can finally start scanning and uploading them :) 8-) :D
