Just seen a news item about a parking bay in London being sold for three hundred thousand pounds.

It is Jo.... it's a 3 year old Ferrari California. My boss does have a car here in the UK (brand new Porsche 911) (and yes he's got lots of money) but he's looking to sell the Porsche next year and want's to minimise the mileage as much as he can to maximise value; so what he did is drive the Porsche to his house in Switzerland and swop it for the Ferrari which he's taken on to the south of France on holiday and he'll then use the Ferrari until Christmas at which point he'll bring the Porsche back and sell it....

make sense? :D

And Di - I think that probably answers your question about hiring a car; he won't do that as it won't be swanky enough. But I suspect that he would be able to get a permit for a hire car, not 100% sure though as he has to provide proof of ownership.

Ahhhh...that explains it
So Ossie's suggestion of a Boris bike would be a non-starter then :-P
