Two more sleeps. Woo hoo.
Am starting to look forward to my holibobs now (apart from the weird stalking woman from the village who will be there at the same time........)
I have finished all the things that needed doing this week that were none holiday related. Adoption panel today was the last thing - it was very heavy going and I am glad it is now out of the way. It has been a very, very hard and emotional day on panel today. I feel completely drained.
I have lots of jobs to do tomorrow - last minute ironing, packing, food packing (though we aren't taking as much as we usually do as its too hot in the car), L's packing (S has packed her own stuff). Mick has packed this evening (oh to be a man who only has to think about himself). He is at work in the morning and is then taking his new walking boots back as they are slippy on wet surfaces so I will try and go with him to get myself some new boots.
Pack the car tomorrow evening, make some sandwiches ready for the journey and then early to bed as we want to be getting off by 5am.
I spoke to the holiday cottage woman earlier and am really pleased as when she asked what time we were likely to arrive and I said 11am (expecting her to say the cottage won't be ready til at least 2pm) she said we would be able to get straight in. And even better, she said that she forgot to mention that the girls room has a double bed in it (which I knew was going to give me a headache during the week with cries of "mum, her foot is on my side of the bed) has now also got a chair bed in too so she is going to make that up.
It is carnival day in St Agnes on Saturday so we will be there in good time to nip to the supermarket on the way to St Agnes, go to the cottage and unpack, go to the Driftwood Spar for lunch and a run on the beach and then be back in prime position for the carnival parade.
