Thanks Di, I'll look out for the Fiddes Payne one - I think it's a Tesco one I'm using at the moment.

Mick made sweet and sour chicken and it looks bloody awful.

I was going to do it when I got home but he decided to be helpful and do it himself - I wish he hadn't bothered.

It was with a jar of sauce and I would have added onion, carrots, beans, corn, chicken and then finished it off with some greens.

He fried some chicken (for too long), added the sauce and then watered it down (why???) and then added mushrooms just to add more liquid. It looks like soup with big chunks of mushroom and over cooked chicken in it.

He has gone out - I have tried it and then opted for a crisp sandwich. The girls had beans on toast. He can eat the slop. It makes me cross as he is perfectly capable of cooking but he was obviously rushing to get it done to go and meet his mate at the pub. I would rather he hadn't bothered.

Kaz if you add some smoked paprika it will give exactly the same flavour, add it with or before the rice ;)

Debih that does sound disgusting

Water it down? maybe to make more of it

That sounds good Di, I have one similar, but with peas (not a gladys favourite  ) and a sweet chilli sauce :D

But the dinner went okay - she's now gone, with one of my incense holders and two packets of same :( we're off up to hers a week on Friday ;)

The mozzies are out and about though, I'm itching a bit

And I'm now on my 3rd glass of wine, had 2 small glasses of beer and the obligitory brandy and coffee

I wouldn't either.

When it was just the two of us and Mick worked away alot I would generally live on cheese, biscuits and hummus. Sometimes I would make a massive chilli on a Sunday and just eat that every night.
