Up early - well, for me anyway - as I'm off to Tavira. A friend is picking me up when she finishes work (she's a nurse and doing a night shift) and we're hitting the shops and also the charity book shops

Then back here and Bente is coming round for a bbq. So the house has to be "baby clean" also the food Doing chicken and chips and the chips have to be "crispy" as in frozen, not proper chips. The salad has to be fresh and she won't drink, as she's driving. So a fun night

Morning all. Overcast and drizzly here today.

Work for me until about 1pm and then I'm heading off to Lidl and Home Bargains to stock up on tins and get some bits for the holiday.

Girls are off to the inlaws (shock horror) and my mil is taking them shopping. They don't have them very often (as I mentioned on the other thread) but whenever they do she takes them shopping. That's fine but I think of all the lovely places they could take them and just shake my head. They used to do this with my nephew when they had him when he was small - a day out wasn't a park or a play place, it was going to The Trafford Centre, Westfield or Meadowhall!!!!!

Oh well, hopefully she will buy them something useful.

My mum and dad are off to the hospital at Derby today for his pre op. He is due another big op on 14 August to remove a film across his eye. The consultant is adamant that the cornea transplant has taken fine and the reason he cannot see is because of this film behind it. They have tried to get rid of it with laser treatment but it is working far too slowly so they want to operate to remove it. Only problem is that that could damage the cornea transplant. This op is his last chance as he won't have another cornea transplant. Its all been very stressful.

Bb's had to take the car down to ATS, there's something wrong with the brakes, it had better not be too costly, it had loads done for a major service not long ago. He'll have to walk all the way home, I'm imagining him just getting in and they'll phone for him to go back and collect it
I did well over half of the ironing yesterday, it's dull and a bit drizzly so I might even get the rest done
Nothing exciting going on - Celeb Masterchef tonight

Bits and bobs for me today. At the audiology clinic yesterday they referred me for the bone anchored hearing aid that I want. It means more waiting and more surgery, but hopefully it will be worth it.

Plenty to do but no real motivation to do it B's BBQ on Friday evening, and we've given the new garden awning a try out last night, I've shopped for most of the food and booze ( ) for it....apart from the fresh stuff like salad and bread rolls....It felt really weird buying booze (only cider and beer) for a party for B I dunno, booze and a Peppa Pig birthday cake, what a mixture She chose her own for this party, I have a special one ordered for the family meal on Sunday, which is her actual birthday

Suppose I should clear the ironing pile before it falls over......................otherwise not doing too much, I don't think
