so the garden needed it but not today

Morning all.

What a fantastic storm we had last night. Sadly it kept me awake most of the night but boy was it impressive.

No work for me today as it is L's leavers service in church today so there will be a few tears. Afterwards I am going for coffee with some of the other leaver's mums and then meeting up with another mum to show her how to do the Christmas cards for school!!!!!!!!!

This afternoon was supposed to be spent pottering but now has ended up with a meeting with the head and the playgroup leader for a crisis meeting over the new out of hours club that is due to start in September. Stupid government - they tell you that you need to provide these things and then make it almost impossible for a small school to do it!

My sister is staying tonight as she, my mum in law and the girls are off to see The Lion King at Birmingham tomorrow.

Good morning everybody. We have had some rain but it has now stopped. But it is still hot and humid. Heard on the local radio that there has been a lightning strike at Piccadilly station in Manchester. No reports of any injuries.

There's been a bit of rain overnight but not a lot and no thunderstorms. I was quite looking forward to being woken up by crashbangs, I love a good storm It should be a bit cooler today anyway, better for getting some jobs done.

And I've got ironing to do and then we're walking (slowly) down to the village to get a couple of bits and bobs. Also a quick look into the Indian shop, to see what dresses they have - good value at 10 euros

Well, the gardens have had a good watering now. The rain has been so heavy overnight
that some of the plants have been flattened. Plenty of thunder and lightning now but
it doesn't seem to bother the dog, as Prince is going deaf in his old age, poor thing.

We won't be doing much today, except a few hasty dog-walks.
