Afternoon :)
Been awol this morning, took advantage of the car to get out nice and early.
I can't say the heat suits me particularly but I love it being like this, day after day when you know you can plan on a barbecue tomorrow, or the washing :) I'd like a bit more shade in the garden, but usually we're chasing the sun :D

Osc that was a good bargain :)
Going for the chop in an hour, my hair is fairly short but it's about to be even shorter :D Only problem is I'll be left with just the darker root end and haven't worked out how to colour it without any bending over :?
Take care everyone
Di

Afternoon all - we're roasting here! Poor Billy's lying flat on his back, legs akimbo, near to the fan. I haven't the heart to move it nearer to me

I went to the gym first thing, then into town because I really, really, really needed new nail polish :D Then it was the 2 mile uphill walk home, I could've gone through the shady, cool woods but that would've meant walking 15 minutes across town in the other direction - by which time I'd be half way home via the road way - so I decided on the direct route. It was horrible.

I phoned school from the gym this morning and spoke to Joe's house manager to see if sports day was still going ahead. It was but she said that she'd had quite a few calls from parents calling in sick for their children. I feel really guilty about sending him. He's taken four bottles of water - two frozen solid - and if what he's brought home the last few days are anything to go by, anything remaining in the bottles will be warm enough to make a nice cuppa when he gets home. I told her how concerned I was, not just for Joe but for everyone who's having to spend all day there in this heat, she said I'm not the only one to have voiced my concerns. I looked at the stadium online and there's a small covered grandstand - certainly not big enough for the amount of pupils going - and the rest of the place is unsheltered open grassland. I think the only reason they haven't cancelled is because they'll have hired 20+ coaches to get everyone there and have also hired the stadium itself.

Osc, that dress is lovely!!

Oh dear Jo I hope they all manage to be ok :?

My hair is not so much short as shorn
Now I definitely said I didn't want the sides and back shorter than the top, but rather the same length all over. So how did she translate that as 'I want the sides and back much shorter than the top, in fact the shorter the better'??
Ah well, it'll grow - and I did want it short :D

Goodness Jo, that is not good at all!!! What about the school's duty of care - sitting out unshaded all day in this heat is impossible :? :( Hope he is ok xxxx

Di it's definitely the right weather for short hair - hopefully the heat will last until it grows out ;) :D Can Bb not help you dye it, then maybe rinse it off stood upright in the shower? Hope you manage ok ((((x))))

I walked to Sainsbury's, did a huge 'freezer' shop as well as the weekly basics, then Mick came to collect me. The walk up there takes over 20 minutes and it was hot hot hot with very little shade, so I feel your pain Jo :? ;)

Phew! 8-)

I can do the dying Kaz, that's standing up. It's the rinsing off, I wouldn't want to be standing upright in the shower with all that colouring stuff running down all over me :? I might be able to kneel in the shower and bend forwards that way...it's so short I need to get that new colour that you can use just a little bit of :D

Think you should have had a delivery Kaz :?

Ah fair enough xxx

I couldn't get a slot until late - and I mean late - tomorrow so decided to go myself. Mick picked me up in his break so it wasn't really too much of a hassle xxx
