Yum yum

I have just taken delivery of 25 scallops, caught today. All for £12.50!!!! And they are huge. :D

Having them tomorrow as we have visitors for the weekend. They don't half take up a lot of room in the fridge.

I adore scallops. But Molly, have you got to take them out of the shell and clean them?

I always eat the 'coral' on scallops and get quite upset in restaurants if they serve me scallops without the orange bit intact.

They do need to come out of their shells but husband will do it. We always eat the coral.

Fugi, if you love them, a fisherman lands them on the harbour in West Bay. Get yourself down here. A friend phoned him and he fished them to order. Want me to pm his phone number?

Hmmm, we'll be very near there next month. Bb doesn't eat fish but boys and I do :D
Used to have a friend who bartered haircuts for lobsters, ooh they were good food days :D

Thanks Molly but I got given a bucket of live shell-on scallops a few years ago and spent a horrifying few hours trying to open the shells and when I did get them open I almost passed out at the sight that greeted me. It was a dreadful ordeal for me cleaning them. Glad you don't have to do it :) I put cleaning scallops top of my list of things I never want to do again. Second is plucking a pheasant! Third is eating a live oyster!

Enjoy the scallops :kick:
