I have just had a text from her - I chased her up again earlier on.

"Just tested the bed out as last time it was used it went down. It does seem to have a leak. I will have to replace it or see if I can find the leak".

Yes you bloody well will. I have told her I want it replacing not fixing. And have told her I want it replacing asap as I need it.

Aha, now things become clearer.....

She knew that the bed had been damaged and the best way not to let you know was to hang on to it as long as, then borrow it back before you could use it - clever.

So, now she has to replace it because you are off camping soon and need one so that you can all cuddle together to keep warm in this weather.

Accept nothing less than a new one.

It does seem as Wm said though, that it's probably been damaged for a while.
But good for you, yes you do need a replacement, she's used it a lot more than you have

It was after we loaned our carpet cleaner out and it came back broken (in two places) that I said never again. Why should we buy things and then have other people use them (and obviously abuse them)?

Definitely get her to replace it and make sure she replaces it with the same model; as you've already said there are loads of similar ones on the market but some are better than others. So make sure she doesn't get you a cheap replacement

I am so angry - I had forgotten all about the inflatable bed.

I saw my friend at the beginning of the month and she told me she was going to replace it. I have been so busy this last month that I forgot all about it and it was only this morning when S mentioned her sleepover that I remembered I hadn't heard anything more about it.

She is away this weekend at the Cambridge Folk Festival so I can't get in touch with her so I have sent her a facebook message asking her if she has replaced it yet as I need it for as soon as I get back off holiday (I don't but that is besides the point) and if she hasn't I have told her which one I would like from Amazon as there are two heights in the same make as ours and I want the higher one, which ours is/was.

I am so angry it is unbelievable. I know that she struggles for money each month (although the Cambridge folk festival isn't cheap) and I know that if she doesn't get it as soon as her wages go in she won't be able to afford it until the following month (which was the reason she gave before- she needed to wait until her wages go in) but I do need it for S's sleep over at the end of August.
