What a two days.

Completely unexpected, a luncheon organised by my daughter and her husband on Sunday,,when the most amazing Memory cake that I am loathed to cut can be seen on my facebook, that reduced me to tears!! So loving and thoughtful.
And tonight, supposedly we were going to eat at my friends hotel where on occasions we play with our jazz band. Gus drove us miles around villages refusing to say what was going on, we stopped at The Harp an old pub where we would go after church for a drink, then off we went again on this country tour with me truly growing more irritable by the minute, we passed my friends pub and drove to the village, me the thinking we were going to the local pub. No! we arrived back home to see numerous people arriving at my house, the terrace decorated with balloons, friends after friends arrived with food, to add to the unbelievable variety my daughter had been cooking for days, and friends brought dishes around to produce what was a proverbial feast.
I was speechless my daughter had been preparing food for tonight for the last couple of days, and keeping it a secret that was almost impossible she said.. Unbelievable what a wonderful array of foods, and how hard she had worked, and how kind of friends who contributed.. To say I was speechless was an understatement, I am truly blessed my 80th birthday in the month of June has not been a happy time for me since the death of my beloved husband, and tonight my sadness lifted seeing the wonder and love that my daughter had organised and prepared "In secret" the pains that she and friends went too to keep their planned party for me that big secret.. Amazing, Loving, never to be forgotten making my 80th the most spectacular night ever.
