What are we reading in June?

What a coincidence Shell.

Only yesterday mum mentioned this book to me (we talk alot about books!) and she said she was struggling with it...very odd as she‘s always loved Rosie Thomas‘s novels.

Oh good I am glad it isn't just me.

I picked up The Playdate by Louise Millar from the library this morning and am just about to go and sit outside to start it.

I loved her other book - Accidents Happen - and just whizzed through it. I lent it to a friend before taking it back to the library and loved it too and has already asked me to borrow this one once I have finished it!

I love it when you find a new author. Just hope this one is as good as the last.

I ordered Stephen King's 11-22-63 from the library and am reading that while I am sitting in the sunshine (although not just at the moment )

It's VERY thick.....might need to re-borrow it after the allotted time!

I have finally finished The Kashmir Shawl and really really struggled with it. Had it been another author I would have given up but I can't give up on a Rosie Thomas. Wonder why I struggled so much with it?

I loved Playdate. So much so that I had to force myself to put it down at 2am this morning - particularly as I had to be up at 6am to go to head office!

I now officially have nothing on the go - but I did have a message on the answerphone from the library to say that I have books waiting to be collected so that will be on my list of things to do tomorrow.

Accidents Happen was fantastic. One of the best books I've read for ages.

I am reading three books which is very unlike me. I am reading Confessions of a GP by Dr Benjamin Daniels, which has really short little chapters so I read a couple in bed and it makes me laugh
One Day by David Nicholls, that I started last week and I am enjoying but needed something really lightweight over the last couple of days so started Eloise by Judy Finnegan

I loved One Day MM - it is one of my favourite books. I actually listened to it rather than read it and it gets to a particular point and I had to rewind it to listen to it again as I really wasn't expecting what happened to happen! The film is rubbish!

And Eloise - I read that recently and really enjoyed it.
