Letter from mum

Postby Ally » 03 Jun 2013, 09:01

Mum and dad have just spent two weeks in the Lake District.

They‘ve been going for the last fortnight in May for years and love it.

It‘s been a standing joke between mum and I in that she sends lots of silly postcards to me and this year was no different.

I‘ve just this minute been delivered of a card from mum that is just us to a T.
(I‘ll post a pic of it later.)

Anyway...inside the card was a long letter that she‘d written last Tuesday.
It was a delight to read as I could ‘hear‘ mum saying the words iyswim.

I‘ve had a little cry as I‘m so touched mum sat and wrote to me...

I‘m sorry if this post makes naff reading...I just wanted to tell you. xx

Not naff at all Ally. My dad used to be a brilliant letter writer. His wit and wisdom would shine out of his letters and I have so many of them from when he would write to me in Switzerland. I read the odd one now and again and he comes alive through his letters :D

That's just lovely Ally - I don't think I ever had a letter from either of my parents...................lots of cards, but not letters. I have had some from my Aunty Rose though and my late grandmother xx

Not naff at all.... Same as Kaz I've never had a letter from my parents, but whenever I get an email from my mom (which admittedly also isn't often as we tend to call each other) I - same as you - can hear my mom's voice saying the words when I read the message... :)

That is lovely Ally and Loz. My mum wrote me a letter just before she died, which I will always keep
