Badgers

The long argued over badger cull pilot scheme starts here tomorrow in Gloucestershire - they are 'hoping' to slaughter over 2,000 badgers in the next year, supposedly to stop the spread of Bovine TB in cattle, but even if they slaughtered every single badger it would only reduce the incidence by 16%. It is just so wrong and so upsetting.........poor little things

Oh, it's dreadful isn't it Kaz? I love badgers and have only ever had a glimpse of one. When I walk Jasper there is what I think is a badger set and I think how special it would be to see them in the wild. Such lovely private animals and now man (who knows best in all matters ) is going to step in and kill them

Very upsetting, I was pretty much in tears watching the news this morning. What arrogance, to slaughter beautiful wild creatures like this, especially as it will barely make a dent in the disease rate in the cows

They are piloting this 'scheme' in Gloucestershire and Dorset to start with, then will roll it out all over the country

I have just been to see my friend and she has badgers in her garden. They put peanut butter and banana sandwiches out for them

So sad, no thought seems to have gone into this at all

It is really sad isn't it.

We have badgers in our garden although we don't often see them. We have a massive badger set in the hillside directly behind our house.

Apparently Brian May and Bill Oddie are leading a march tomorrow, against it! I signed a petition ages ago, on Facebook, that Brian May was in charge of.

Good for them!!!! I always was a Queen fan!

I'd have happily culled every bleddy brock in South Somerset the day they broke down my garden fence and chomped their way through all the raspberries ....
