Out of Hours NHS

Postby cruiser2 » 27 May 2013, 13:27

After ten o'clock this morning, I collapse on the landing when I was going to the bathroom. So mrs.e phoned the out of hours doctor and spoke to a lady. She took my details and said the doctor would ring back as soon as possible. Just after noon the doctor rang and spoke to mrs.e. He said he would fax a new prescription to the nearest pharmacy which was open-Tesco. We were back home before 1.00 p.m with the new tablets, which are much stronger than the ones I took last week.
This was much better than waiting in our local A & E for treatment, or getting up early tomorrow and being first at the doctors to make an appointment.
You read about so many stories about long waiting times and poor service, but we cannot complain.
