Dinner tonight

Postby tonicha » 21 May 2013, 15:55

was going to be a bbq, but it's clouded over again

So, as I took out a pork joint instead of pork steaks    we'll be having a roast dinner  roasties, carrots, green beans, mashed carrot and swede, peas and cauli.

Just uncorked a rather pleasant bottle of red :D

And we have 13 sleeps before we go house hunting :D :D

I have a creamy tomato pasta bake in the oven, think I will have a glass of wine with it too - don't normally drink but I have a little can of rose wine spritzer in the fridge and after my day, I feel like it!

Ooh I love love love purple sprouting broccoli Kaz :D

We had 'Not steak' ;)
A great big flat mushroom each; finely chop any stalk, sauté; this time added finely chopped aubergine as not much stalk, garlic, then add handfuls of spinach, wilt, season, add grated parmesan. Pile this into mushrooms, dollop a bit of creme fraiche on top and a bit more parmesan. Bake. It gets gorgeous juice in the dish, so you can add a little water to it before spooning it on top.
Served with chunky oven chips, roast cherry tomatoes and a pile of salad.
It's very, very nearly as good as a really good steak :)
