Thanks Di, I did not know of Red Spotted Hanky, looks good They want £34 to go on Monday and £78 to come back on Wednesday. I just dont like being restricted for times but am normally a first class traveler. Will give it serious thought, they are a bolshy lot though and obviously have too many customers. :(

Pederito I just used National Rail Enquiries I entered the dates I wanted to travel and the rough times and it gave me lots of options, including the cheapest fares. I always do that for train travel and have had some great bargains. Over £300 is flipping ridiculous - as is that nonsense about having to pay for the full journey again if you get off the train! :shock: :evil:

National Rail Enquiries and The Trainline give some excellent deals on occasions. I had a trip booked in February to Edinburgh from London for £20 return. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it but as it was so cheap I didn't mind losing it.
