Good morning Friday

Postby debih » 17 May 2013, 07:00

Morning all. It's wet here. Again!

Nothing much happening for me today. I am going to make a chicken and mushroom pie for dinner tonight and other than keep feeding the washing machine that's about it. I have such a hectic week next week that I decided today I would just sit and knit and catch up on things I have recorded.

Bingo this afternoon at school. Its the first "parents invited" event done by the new PTA and I (and the other two old PTA's) are desperately not trying to criticise them but groaned when we saw that it was at 4pm (what are the parents/children supposed to do from school finish at 3.30pm until it starts at 4pm; lots of families won't be able to come because they will still be at work/have after school clubs; children will be niggly because a) it is the end of SATS week so they are tired and b) they will be wanting dinner.) They have also asked for everyone to make cakes to bring in for a cake sale - so they are expecting people to make cakes and then buy cakes. But they will learn with experience (I hope).

No plans for this evening other than dinner, bath and bed.

It's a lovely day here so I am going to be out all day. Off to Belfast for shopping and lunch.

Morning all :) It's not raining here but looks a bit dodgy - not sure whether to put my washing out or tumble it, but I do resent having to use the dryer at this time of year.........

Need to get some food shopping today, it's only Mick and I here this weekend so I could have waited until Monday, but I have a dental apt in Cheltenham Monday and then am putting in a couple of hours at the stall on Tuesday, just to re-orientate myself with the job, with a view to starting officially on the 28th :) So unless I want to food shop during our precious 'just us' weekend I'd best get it done   Becky is off to Brum today for a weekend at a Supernatural convention, with friends. This is a TV show from the States not a convention about the occult as I first thought when she told me

Had some good news last night, my niece Hannah, who works in telly, has a new job working for Discovery Channel, mainly editing which is her 'thing' but also going out on shoots so gaining more experience 8-) This is a year long contract which is good in TV these days, all her other jobs since graduating, with MTV and the BBC, have been short term 3 month or 6 month contracts as apparently is common these days in TV. Bit stressful if you ask me, but that's how it is now :? Anyway she's thrilled and so is her mum, my sis, who rang me chuffed to bits last night :D

Have a good day everyone, hope it stays fine where you are :) :)

Morning all :)
Bit dull and cloudy here, forecast not very helpful. Still, yesterday was lovely, did lots in the garden - a lot more to do but it's a bit more respectable!
Debih that sounds a bit of a farce, but as you say hopefully they'll learn :?
Kaz that's brilliant for your niece :)
We'll have youngest for the weekend so Bb will stop off for any essentials on his way to or from collecting him, then I'll do the proper shopping tomorrow or Sunday.
Hope everyone has a good day
