Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 11 May 2025, 04:41

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 29°. Summer's stomping in. 8-)

Inma and Jacob are coming over this morning.
Jacob is going to help Don start boxing up things in the basement. Decide what's coming with us when we move and what's for scrapping/recycling etc. As it's always been Don's space (affectionately known as the dongeon ) I'm more than happy not to be involved.

Inma's going to drive me and herself to Cartama market. It's one of my favourites as it's not too big and I always seem to pick up a dress shaped bargain.

They'll go home after we've had lunch and I'll probably end up in the pool like I did yesterday. :cute:

TV tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sunny although not that warm yet. Warming up later to 23C.

That's the problem with moving, what to take, what not, then finding you needed the what not later on

Off to Bricomarche this morning, in Castro. I'm on the hunt for four large plant pots. I saw some really lovely one's in Milfontes, but don't really want to spent over 100€ for one pot

Back to pick the broad beans and peas. Rather later this year, but all the rain stopped us.

Roast chicken for dinner - with broad beans and peas

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Ally, JanB and anybody else who is up.

I was missing yesterday as I was up early to go to Bolton. My taxi came at 7.00 a.m. Had a good day at the museum at RAF Cosford.

Itis 18C this morning with a full sun so it should get warmer. Will be washing the car as ther is dust on both the windows and the bodywork.

Will also put the washing on as the basket is full.

Will be having salad for dinner. Too hot for a coked meal. Will be having a botte of the cider I bought last year.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, it’s another warm and sunny one.

George had an early walk in the woods, he’s now flat out on the bed as John’s jet washing the patio and he’s not keen so I’m up here keeping him company. Joe’s just heading back from Jade’s and then we’re off up the M6 for a 2.15 kick off. Hopefully we’ll be back in good time for the evening walk.

Al, I blitzed our garage last Summer. The amount of stuff in there which we didn’t need was incredible! There were boxes which we hadn’t even unpacked from when we moved here, mostly all toys and books which the lads had brought with them but hadn’t bothered to put in their new rooms. The charity shop on the way to town did very well out of us. I then went to Ikea and bought loads of clear lidded storage containers, everything was in random boxes before, and put what remained into those. If/when we move that’s one job less to do and it’s all ready to go.

Cruiser, Cosford is a wonderful museum! It’s not far from us so it’s somewhere we used to head to quite often when the lads were younger. Bonus being that it’s free!

Have a good day all :)

Morning all, mostly hazy sun here but shock horror :o some rain forecast for later :( We had a lovely time yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Ivy followed by a stroll around a sunny Grafton Street (Dublin’s Bond Street) which was busy and buzzy with some good buskers being enjoyed in the sunshine. One of them is a very well known young woman called Allie Sherlock who is a regular Grafton Street busker and a hero of Kellie’s, so of course I took a photo for her https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allie_Sherlock We had no problems with train times, although we were completely gobsmacked at the huge amount of people coming to Howth on the incoming train, they must have been crammed in like sardines, then when we got back to Howth there were so many on the platform that there were two security men making people stand back while the train was coming in. Howth is just packed every fine day now.

Today’s main activity is packing for our one-nighter to Rosslare tomorrow, our train is at 9.30am so it’ll be an early start. I have some washing in the machine but will peg it on the drying rail indoors, then I’ll do the towels and put them in the dryer. First, shower >>>>>>>>

Morning all.
A beautiful one too, sunny and warm.
"It's always been Don's space (affectionately known as the dongeon )".
Jo, our daughter converted their integral garage into a playroom last year.
So now our garage contains two pushbikes, three wheels and tyres from a Suzuki Swift, a big wooden rocking chair and God knows what else that seems to have taken up permanent residence.
Sister in law is coming over for Sunday dinner and tomorrow hopefully Adam the brickie finishes off our patio. It's round the back, doesn't get much sun and hence the concrete hasn't "gone off" as quickly as he thought it would.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning all :D

Sunny 8-)

We had a busy day yesterday, finally got round to doing the garden, back and front. It's looking much better now, but we were both cream crackered by the time we'd finished. Still got more to do, but nothing urgent so that can wait till another day. My arm is quite sore after the covid booster, it usually wears off after a day or two, no other side effects.

Planning a nice easy day, roast chicken and salad for dinner, choccy blancmange with orange jelly for pud.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Jo, I use those clear storage boxes too. I like them as you can see what's inside ;) xx

Have a good time in Rosslare, Osc xx

Hope you can get your patio finished tomorrow Crommers! xx

Good idea to take it easy, Jen xx

It's been a busy day here. Absolutely beautiful weather this morning, so we went to Corretto's for brunch and sat outside. It was very busy down there today, as there was a car exhibition on, Italian cars vintage and contemporary. They were all arranged around the docks area. We took a wander, to give Daisy another walk, but didn't go the whole way round as it was so crowded.

Round to see D after that, then home. We've had lamb steaks and Jersey Royals, with veg, for an early dinner, as brunch was early. I spent most of the afternoon putting away the last of our winter clothes, and getting out the last of our summer ones, and then giving the room a good hoovering etc. We keep a lot of our clothes and shoes etc in the room that used to be Mick's study. It's handy really, as it's just across the landing from our bedroom. We've put a hanging rail in there, and storage boxes.

It's raining now! The first in a good while, so quite welcome! :D

Love to all xx
