Good Morning Tuesday

Postby JanB » 06 May 2025, 06:24

Morning everyone

Grey sky and not that warm, but at least we're dry today.

We had to move out of the bedrooms, seem to be full of mozzies  Sprayed ourselves and the bedding but Grumpy still got bitten about six times :o

Washing to be done and then the gardening. Will be digging up the enormous spreading thick stemmed one's, as pretty as they are, as they're very difficult to cut.

Then will do some strimming.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s sunny but there’s been a frost overnight.

George has had his walk and he met Bill’s friend Sable who is a huge, beautiful and ever so gentle German Shepherd Dog.

The first of two loads of washing is the machine, that should dry well today so it’ll hopefully be ironed this afternoon. I’ve also done the first pick up of the day of unripened cherries off our lawn from next door’s tree. The leaves, stones and stalks are toxic to dogs, they contain cyanide, and George thinks anything is fair game for eating. I’d intended lopping the overhanging branches in the Winter because the tree is diseased and once the leaves are established they die and our garden ends up looking Autumnal from July onwards if I don’t pick them up. I don’t remember the fruit falling before ripening before this year though.

Have a good day all :)

Morning all, it’s a glorious morning, still needs to be a bit warmer but I can live with that. I drove Edward to the golf club before 9am as he had to bring his clubs back after yesterday’s game at a different club. I love the drive over the hill and today it was particularly stunning, everything so fresh and green, blue sky, the expanse of Dublin Bay with clear views down the coast to Wicklow. Back to have my breakfast and there is ironing to be done. This evening I’m going to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe with Miss Osc, Kellie and my sister, Miss Osc is collecting me around 5.15 as it starts at 7pm, not sure why it is so early. I had a successful shopping trip yesterday, got a few tee shirts and a shirt for Edward. When I got home, I tried on my summer clothes, which all seem fine - I’m so white though, and not much chance of me getting a tan as I don’t tan easily. Edward on the other hand only has to stick his nose out the door and he’s brown, it’s very annoying!

Morning all :D

Overcast and chilly

Popping to the small Tesco later this morning. We've enjoyed having salad the last two days, but it's not exactly warm so not sure if it will be more of the same or some hot veggies for dinner today, decisions, decisions......

Hope you all have a good day xx

Beautiful day now and we-re jiggered

Only did half the garden and have a huge blister. Must remember to wear gloves tomorrow. Must also remember what my back was reminding me. You are almost 69, not 29

Meeting friends down at the bar, not been down for a few days.

Done the prep for dinner, chicken breasts, stuffed with a local goats cheese and garlic, wrapped in presunto. One of our favourites :D

Afternoon all :)

Yikes Jan! Hope the spraying is successful x

It was chilly here too overnight, Cruiser xx

Glad George is making friends, Jo :) I understand about the cherries, our Daisy is much more prone to eating things than Fraggle ever was - he always waited for permission, bless him! So we're having to be more vigilant xx

Your evening sounds fun, Osc, I loved the Narnia stories as a child. I hope you all enjoy it :) xx

We've switched from salads to baked veg for tonight Jen! xx

Sunny but a bit chilly here! We went to Cheltenham this morning - well Up Hatherley really, to the B&Q there, as D needed a replacement panel for her greenhouse and they didn't have any in the Gloucester store. Then we had a bite of breakfast on the way back. Took the panels (we brought a spare) round to D's ready for Mick to fit later in the week.

Love to all :) xx
