Evening all, we got back from our two night dance break this afternoon. On Monday we heard from another dancer that a friend of ours had died the previous week, so as where we were staying was very near Newry where they, we decided that we would go and visit his wife before heading home. The weather was horrendous and the driving was difficult. It was good to see her, give her a great big hug, and spend a while chatting about dancing and old times, and she told us about her husband’s final weeks. We knew he was ill (melanoma, we found out today) in the end it progressed quickly and he died rather suddenly.

When we got home, the house was rather cold and the heat went on. We’re both pretty tired so it’ll be early to bed tonight.
