Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 16 Apr 2025, 06:36

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 24°. 8-)

Will go out with Don and get food shopping as the shops will be closed tomorrow and Friday for Easter.

We've got a friend from London who does the most extraordinary cycling trips.
He's been biking all over North Africa and was in Morocco on Monday and will be getting to ours late afternoon.

We'll take him out for a beer and a bite to eat and he's staying the night before setting off again tomorrow.
I hope he's not expecting his cycling shorts to be washed.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Rather cool this morning, we had more rain over night and more is expected

Off to Ourique this morning, collect blood test results and drop them off at the Centro de Saude. If there is a problem, Dr Paulo will ring me. Hoping there's nothing on there

Then the supermarkets, chemist, pit stop for coffee and gossip, back for breakfast and then decide what we can do. Inside, not out

Amazing stories from your friend Ally :D :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Al, Jan and all :D
It’s grey and drizzly, and looks like it’ll be pretty stormy later in the morning with 44mph winds forecast along with rain.

I’m waiting for a before 1pm Amazon delivery which is two stops away. I like before 1pm deliveries as they come through the Birmingham depot and we’re always one of the first drops whereas normal Amazon deliveries come through the one at Stoke and usually start with an afternoon time slot which then gets later and later as the day goes on.

There’ll be lots of puppy cuddles no doubt, George is such a snuggler :D

Al, your friend sounds amazing. One of my favourite books is “You’ve Gone Too Far This Time, Sir” by Danny Bent. He was a teacher in London and was teaching his class about a village in India and decided to cycle there to see it for himself.

Hope the results are okay Jan x

Have a good day all :D

Good morning Everybody,

Only 14C when I got up. Ithas ben raining and there are still lots of grey clouds.
Just another day pootlng. Lots of dusting and using the vacuum cleaner ready for Easter.
I had a delivert last week by DPD. It was more than an hour later than ststed on the text message. The driver knocked on the door, even though I have
a big bright brass bell push at the side of the door. The van was further up the Crescent as he could not park right outside my house. Itook me several
minutes to get to the door as I was having my lunch. I made it obvious, I was not happy with the way the item had been delivered.

It has been on the local TV news about a pensioner who is cycling from Cape Town to North Africa. I wonder if Halfords have any of their shops along the route.

Have a good day everybody.

Cruiser, I was due a delivery by DHL. It was due to be delivered on April 7th which wasn’t convenient so I used their website to change the date to the 9th which it confirmed.
They delivered it on the 6th

Morning all :D

Hot 8-)

Jan hope the blood test results are okay.

Change of plans yesterday, we decided to drive along to Oistins instead. We've driven through on the way to/from the airport, but never stopped for a good look round. Had a proper mooch and ended up at Surfers Cafe for lunch, great views. Did some food shopping on the way back and then popped over to the Tiki Bar for a drink and to watch the sunset. Altogether a lovely day.

Beach today 8-)

Hope you all have a good day xx

That's hilarious, but what an amazing trip!. :D xx

Hope your results are ok Jan xx

Daisy is a snuggler too, Jo - especially with me, much to B's disgust :P ;) xx

Hope your delivery came ok Cruiser xx

Another day in Paradise then Jen :) xx

It started very chilly here, I was out early to meet my friend J for a cuppa, then went on the sunbed for a few minutes - hopefully now my psoriasis will calm down a bit!

Love to all xx

Good afternoon.
Another few hours clearing out Jim's stuff. There's only the settee, chair, fridge, freezer, washing machine and cooker left now.
I hopethe bloods come back ok Jan.
It was blinking freezing here this morning. Grey and with a chilly east wind; it's brighter now though.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

Dr Paulo has just rung. All okay, apart from my liver. Just a little high, so cut back.

Must stop drinking vast quantities of wine

Going out for dinner with friends, so I'll just have a couple of glasses tonight and then stop for a couple of weeks.

We've had more rain and will do for the next few days
