Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 17 Mar 2025, 07:29

Good morning.

Cloudy sunshine and not too bad at 18°. :D

Meeting Ely at 9.15 for our convowalk. :D

I've got a few errands to do in town later. :)

A couple of weeks ago Conor bought and had sent to Don a case of 24 Guinness zero as he'd been raving about it so a can will be cracked open by hubby later to celebrate St Patrick's Day.

TV tonight including the final Virdee. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sunny, but with a grey sky, so more rain on it's way

A friend is coming up this morning, with his tv stuff. Got to be better than the rubbish one we have, so we'll see if that works any better.

I have washing to do, but that depends on the weather

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Ally, Mick tried Guiness.Zero when his brother.brought some round at Christmas. He liked it xx

Hope the telly stuff gets sorted Jan xx

Happy St Patrick's Day to those on here celebrating :) xx

We were up early as Fraggle had to be at the vet's by 8am for admission until this evening. Blood tests as they want to compare their readings to ours, as they seem to be fluctuating wildly here. Also a liver scan as they think there might be a problem there, affecting his glucose. That would be very bad news, so some vibes for our boy would be much appreciated.

We have two days away in Wales booked from tomorrow as it's my birthday on Wednesday. We've hummed and harred about going, but Becky is going to work from home, doing admin, while we're away, and insists we go. So we will, albeit slightly reluctantly. To be honest, we do need a break, our nights have been very disrupted recently. It's particularly hard on Mick, as Fraggle won't go out for me in the night, he grizzles for Mick :(

I'm going out with Em today, Cheltenham for a change, and Mick's going to rest, maybe get some sleep.

Have a good day everyone xxx

hello everyone, good morning and happy St Patrick's Day

Kaz, sending tons of vibes for your boy, keeping everything crossed for him x I think time away for a few days is good for you both; so well done Becks for insisting x
Enjoy the walk Ally and good luck with the errands. The Guinness 0 is meant to be really good; I bought four cans the other day as I had neighbours coming over for dinner and I knew he likes them and still have two in the fridge. It's meant to be quite warm towards the end of the week, so I might try one for myself.
Good luck with the TV Jan, it's really a struggle for you isn't it :-( Hope the weather stays dry enough for you to get some washing done

I'm meeting a friend at Wisley Gardens at 10.30 this morning; we'll have a nice walk and catch up and then find somewhere to have a small bite to eat before heading home. I had a lovely walk on the South Downs on Saturday with another friend, and would really like to do more of them so need to sort out footwear. I've got a perfect pair of hiking boots in my cupboard, but they squeak when walking so I don't wear them. I usually wear my wellybobs or trainers (weather dependent) but neither are really ideal for long walks, so today will be a hiking boots session to see if wearing them more will soften them and hopefully de-squeak them

The afternoon will be the usual computer stuff - sigh...

Have a lovely day everyone xx

Good morning everybody.

It was only 11C when I got up. There are grey clouds but no rain. Since breakfast I have been to Lidl. Had to come back as I had forgotten to take my crefit card.
I had got most of the things I wanted. The manager put the trolley in one of the check out ailsles not in use untik I went back.

I am now going to renew my Blue Badge. I do this at the main library in town.

Then I will go an order a new fridge and a new frezer. We bought them when we were working and I have been retired for more than 25 years.
Am doing before Racheal from Accounts tries to get some of my savings.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, it’s overcast, windy and very cold, the outside temperature is only 7c. I have towels out on the line so they will get a good blow around. Happy St Patrick’s Day to all! I have mobility class this morning, she carries on with classes on bank holidays. On the way home I’ll call into Miss Osc’s to collect a couple of slices of a nice looking cake she made yesterday. Then taking it easy for the rest of the day.

We were at a dance yesterday afternoon, a couple there hadn’t been there before, although I thought they looked very vaguely familiar - but then, moving around different socials, you do see familiar faces. During the afternoon, the man came over to us and told us that many years ago, they had not been dancing long and they went to a particular event where they didn’t know anyone. He said that we had gone out of our way to make them feel welcome, they really appreciated it and never forgot. We really appreciated him saying that, when we first started social dancing over 20 years ago, it was all about competition and nobody made us welcome, so we’ve always tried to make newbies feel welcome and included. Now things are different, social dancing is booming, everyone knows almost everyone else and newcomers are encouraged to join in, helped with new dances and so on. I must say, it did give me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Morning all :D

Dull and overcast.

Sending vibes Kaz, good to have a couple of days away.

We're up early so we can relax and have a nice brekkie and still have plenty of time to do all the last minute checks. Our airport transfer chap is due to pick us up at 1.30pm, it's a fair drive to Heathrow so we should be there mid afternoon. We always stay overnight at an airport hotel these days, means we get a good night's sleep and don't have to travel up in the early hours. The M25 is a nightmare and I'm too old to be worrying about hold ups etc

Not long now, starting to feel excited, we should be in Barbados around 3.35pm their time tomorrow, they're 4 hours behind us.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good morning.
Grey and cold here.
We've just taken the prescriptions up and are going over to our son's in a minute.
Safe travels jen!
I took a strong painkiller last night and seemed to sleep better. Something to remember.
Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone.

It is dull, damp and cold.

Have a safe journey and enjoy your hols, Jen.

Hugs for Fraggle and enjoy you break Kaz and Mick.

Ria, a bar of saddle soap is what you need for your boots. It will nourish the leather and keep it supple and waterproofed... and squeak free. :D

I am waiting in for a DPD delivery before going shopping.

Enjoy your day.
