Boom Boom !

We visited a local garden centre today, Pacific Nurseries in Streetly which, while perhaps not the cheapest, does provide some quality stuff. Compost and gardening gloves, watering can, begonias and geraniums for borders, some peppers for the greenhouse, and a pyracanthus to replace a shrub at the fromt that died last year.

This evening we've planted most of them. You may recall last year we visited the cafe at HMP Sudbury for an inmate's lasagne, and while we were there, we bought a wooden flower tub, courtesy of the prison workshops. We decided to put this at the front on a gravelled border, and plant it with geraniums. Mrs O's allotted task!

When she had finished, I took a look at it and jokingly said "Hmmm - looks a bit drunkenly lopsided. We'll have to go into lockdown and I'll have to search your bedroom for hooch".

"Yes" replied Mrs O, quite seriously "I simply can't get it to go straight!"

Collapse of all parties into laughter once we realised what she'd said!

boom boom indeed

We used to use an open prison garden centre when we lived in Chipping Sodbury and it was really good. Lads of different things to buy (and eat :D ) Their fushias were superb, far better than anywhere else.

We haven't done any of the planned gardening, except Bb did cut the grass yesterday. We went out and enjoyed ourselves instead ;)
