Next years hoilday is already booked!!!
Its my mum and dads 50th wedding anniversary next year and they have both said that they don't want a party (they bought a new conservatory instead).
They have just come back from a week away in Happisburgh, Norfolk, with my sister and her partner and my sis rang to say did we all fancy going away next year to coincide with their anniversary. Sis has found a lovely house that sleeps 10 (there will be 8 of us) and takes dogs (there will be 2 of them). It has a ground floor bedroom and toilet (vital for my dad) and a games room (perfect for the girls).

To be away on the exact date (4th April) would mean going on 29 March and I was worried about the girls missing a week of school, especially S as she will be chosing her options next year and doing internal SAT's. I rang the school and spoke to the head of her current year and she has looked at the school diary and said that it shouldn't clash with anything vital and as it is a special occasion, and it is only a week, we should go for it and book it. She has put a note on S's "file" to say that I was responsible and rang to discuss it well in advance.
So my sis has booked it. It's pretty cheap going then - £726 in total as opposed to £1200 two weeks later (Easter). We aren't going to tell my mum and dad. My sis will tell them that they have booked to take them away to the same bungalow that they have just stayed in and then we will just arrive at the house - this also means that we can't tell the girls until as late as possible as they are bound to blab!
I'm quite looking forward to a big family holiday.
