Only in Portugal - again

Postby JanB » 18 Nov 2024, 20:23

Having tried on multiple times, to speak to some-one about cancelling our contract, Steve very kindly took me down to Guia, to the MEO shop.

As an aside, I really hate his driving - and the truck stank of smoke

So we get there, timed it just after lunch, so bods would have gone, got in to see some-one straightaway :Hi:

Nope, can't do it in the shop anymore, has to be done on the phone

Steve went off on one, as he does  but I have arranged for a person to ring me tomorrow, to cancel our so called contract.

As the lovely lady said they will try and persuade you to stay, offer all sorts, but if you don't want to stay with us - after all these years (almost had me in tears, she was so good  ) then you have to go.

I'm done with them. When we first moved over, they were the one and only internet provider. And still are, but we now have other options.

And we have to take all the boxes etc, to their shop in Albuferia, not that one, but the other one. Otherwise you get charged for it all

Mind you, Jan, it can be just as bad back 'ere ..... BT are converting everyone over to "Digital Voice", which means getting your landline phone via your internet connection rather than a wire.
They (the BT engineers) are in town at the moment. I have had a flurry of letters, postcards and emails about it all, and am supposed to get a visit. No idea when.
Two of our friends have been "done" - and last I heard, both could no longer get their telephone line to work.

Flippin' palaver ....

God luck with the TV Starlink stuff. You might still need MEO, NOS, NOWO...for TV etc.

Nope.

A lot of people have Starlink here, we just need an IPTV something or other.

MEO, NOS do not have the capacity or the internet links we need.

Nor do Vodaphone.

We know what we can have here, many have the same.
