Good morning Ally and anybody else who is up.

Things are back to normal now family have gone back home. We had a good time together.

It was only 14C when I got up. So the CH is on. There are grey skies but no rain.
Will be ordering the cakes for my birthday. I get litle individual ones. Much better than tryingto cut a big one. Have also some phone calls to make.
And make a parcel of some clothes grand-daughter couldn't take bake wth her.

Have a good day everybody.

Good morning you two

Enjoy the reading in the sun Ally - sounds perfect. And it reminds me that I should get my kindle charged and do some reading whilst I have the time
Cruiser, so glad you had a fab family time; it's always special.

Same weather here that Cruiser has but a few degrees colder; it's really been rather grim. Vet appointment this morning (vaccination booster is due); then over to Karl and Nadine to pick up my phone that I left at theirs yesterday. This afternoon may be spending time with Amelia to help her create a costume that she needs for the weekend. Otherwise it'll be just pootling about doing bits.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning everyone

Quite foggy, but will be 24C and wall to wall sunshine once that's gone.

Off to Ourique this morning, once the fog has lifted, for Grumpy to see the nurse at the Centro de Saude. Get a new dressing, then back to see Darren, to get train tickets booked.

Glad you had a lovely time with the family Cruiser x

I've looked at the train and bus timetable - and costs  - and although it's a lot cheaper on the coach, it's quite bit longer, time wise and the lateness of arriving, both in Braga and then back here, make the train sound more attractive.

Back to do not sure - depends how the weather is. Weeding beckons and cutting back.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s sunny :o

Looking forward to a slower day. It’s been a full-on weekend. Me and Joe were at an event in Manchester featuring Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Saturday night. We met him and he was SO lovely to chat with, so don’t believe any of that don’t meet your heroes they’ll only disappoint you rubbish, so we had to leave early in the afternoon to make sure we were there in good time. We got back around 1.30am and then had to be out again by 10.30 to drive back up for a 2pm kick off, a bit early but we had to go to Stafford to pick up Joe’s mate Ryan so we needed extra time to negotiate Stafford’s roadwork closures and diversions. We’d have stayed overnight on Saturday but hotel rooms, even a Travelodge, were ridiculously expensive, even if we’d stayed outside of the city centre. I couldn’t find anything decent under £180 per room and we’d have needed two. A combination of the Christmas market, people going for a night out and people travelling for the match I think.

The second load of washing is just finishing, the first load is out on the line.

The only other plan is a trip to Hobbycraft at Stafford tonight to pick up an order.

Have a good day all :)

Morning all, there is something strange going on, there are patches in the sky that are a blue colour, anyone know what could be causing it? ;) We had a lovely afternoon of dancing yesterday, really enjoyed it, a great start for a new social hosted by our friends Noel and Angie. Edward has gone to play golf and I’ll be going to my class in a while. Not sure what I’ll do later.

Jo, how great to meet Ole! He was always a favourite of mine.

Good morning.
It is too, we have sun.
Going out for a shop soon. We had eight for dinner yesterday, it was a bit busy.
How nice for you Jo! Ole always did seem like a nice guy.
I've done the Telegraph crossword, now it's time for Sainsbury's.
Have a nice day everyone.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny 8-)

We've had a lovely lie in, one of the nicer perks of being retired. Especially in these colder months and Ed says in spite of the sun it was definitely cold when he finally went round for the papers. Decided to slap on a face pack after my shower as I've got a list of admin things on the computer to do. That's my day taken care of.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Train tickets sorted :Hi: :Hi: Absolute bargain at 73€ each return. First class too :Hi: But it will be a long journey, so need some comfort.

Grumpy has had a new dressing and has to go back on Wednesday, for another clean around and fresh covering.

Now going for a beer, in the sun, it's gorgeous outside.

Afternoon all :) xx

Those plans sounded good Ally :) xx

Glad you got your tickets sorted Jan, and that Grumpy is getting on ok. 8-) xx

So good to hear that your family time went well Cruiser :) xx

Enjoy your pootling and reading Ria :D xx

Really glad Ole was so nice, Jo :) My friend Emma's daughter's partner is Joe Thomlinson who presents Saturday Social on Sky Sports, and runs the Football Daily YouTube channel, so he meets footballers all the time, and says usually on a one-to-one basis they're good lads.
It's totally wrong how hotels put up the prices when sporting events are on! It's the same round here when the Cheltenham race festival in March is on :cute: xx

Was there enough to make a pair of sailor's trousers, Osc  That was one of my Nan's sayings when there was a patch of blue sky ;) xx

It's been sunny here this afternoon. Good news here, Becky has a job :Hi: It's only a temp job but it's with the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust at their Robinswood Hill office - front desk office administrator :) Dealing with visitors and internal admin. Apparently they were so impressed with her CV that when the temp agency put her forward they offered her the job immediately, without interview! She starts on Wednesday :Hi:

Went to Cheltenham with Emma and did a bit of Christmas shopping, and had a spot of lunch :)

Love to everyone :) xxx
