Good Morning Thursday

Postby JanB » 31 Oct 2024, 06:26

Morning everyone

Still dark, but we're supposed to have sun, cloud and showers this morning, brightening up this afternoon and 20C.

Cooking head on this morning. Will be making a curry for Saturday and prepping the chicken breasts for tonight's dinner.

Too cold and damp to do anything outside, so inside stuff again.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everyone.

Cloudy sunshine and forecast 22° so I'll do my walk shortly. 8-)

Don and I are off to look at a couple of houses on the coast today and setting off around 11.
We'll have a good few hours mooching around the area and have lunch somewhere. :cute:

TV tonight. :D

Have a great day.

Morning all, it’s a dull one here. We’re well rested after our Belfast trip. I have a dental appointment at 11am to finally get my implant tooth, then this afternoon Edward has an appointment to have an echo cardiogram, so a busy day. Tesco is due while I am out this morning, no Kellie today as she is on mid term break and going to a tennis camp. It was lovely spending the last couple of days with Miss Osc, Michael and Kellie, family time is the best.

Morning all, it’s a dull one.

There’s a load of washing on the line, hopefully it’ll at least start to dry in the breeze. I need to hoover through too and clean the bathrooms. Also need to sort out the Tesco order.

Those journeys up the M6 don’t get any easier. We left here at 4.40pm and the traffic app said we’d arrive at 6.20pm which would allow us time to get something to eat. We got to our seats (or standing area, we’re in a safe standing block) just after the team kicked off at 7.45pm. It wasn't down to roadworks or an accident, just volume of traffic for the entire length of the M6 that we use, much of which is four lanes between here and Manchester. It’s not even like we have a long walk when we park the car, we have a season pass for one of the car parks at the stadium so only have to cross the road and we’re at our turnstile. Coming back was better, 1hr 25 mins which included getting off the motorway at 17 and back on at 16 due to it being down to one lane between those junctions and then getting off at 14 and having to detour through Stafford because junction 13, where we usually get off, was closed.

Osc, I was telling Joe about the Titanic Hotel after seeing your pics on Facebook.

Have a good day all :)

Hello all and good morning

A quick pop in from me to say hello - it's been a busy week for the office closing; and I'm now in the final stages of sorting. Tomorrow the company comes to dismantle the remaining desks / tables / cupboards etc ready for packing up on Saturday. Then Sunday I drive up one last time to get the last bits and bobs I want to take home for charities / schools or myself, and then one very last trip next Tuesday to meet up with our IT guy to have our laptops wiped (there are three of us).

Osc, good luck with the medical appointments, hope all goes well - esp for you today and the implant x

have a lovely day everyone xx

Morning all :D

Nice and dry.

Osc good luck at the dentist and hope Edwards test goes well too.

We're popping into town shortly, I need to return some stuff I ordered. We'll park at Waitrose as we need a few bits there too and it gives us plenty of time for a walk round the harbour.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Ally, that's very exciting 8-) xx

I hope both appointments go well Osc. my brother-in-law Jeff recently had an implant, and is very pleased with it xx

Happy pootling, Cruiser xx

Oh that was a long journey then Jo xxx

Good luck with it all Ria xx

A perfect day for a seaside walk Jen :) xx

I was at the hairdresser's by 10 for my cut and colour, then Mick and I took D to Tesco with us. Not long got home. The dogs are also having their hair done, as the Snip Doggy Dog lady is here with her poodle-parlour on wheels  Daisy has been done already, she's had to be cut much shorter as her fur was a bit matted underneath - bit of a shame, but now we can start afresh with her, with daily brushing 8-) No "pirates" tonight, as Mick calls it, as it's half-term.

Love to all xxx

Jan, the other day you mentioned that Jose would "disc" the field. Is that like tedding or hawing when the top has been ploughed and manured so that it can be planted again?

My sister from another mother (long story) and her hubby have a bullock / hay pasture and might be interested.

Not quite sure what you'd call it WM. He's done it all now and gone. Otherwise, I'd get pics and show you.

It's farrowing, according to Mitch, but then he was Irish and got it all about face - sorry Osc ;) County Cork, you know.

He first did it when we moved here, cleared all the estevas (rubbish stuff) and then used this thing on the back of the tractor. We call is discs, because that what it looks like - about 10 of them, behind the tractor.

Then, he sowed by hand - I kid you not. Walked all over a 2 acre field, sowing lupin seeds.

Not, clever lad, he's got a hopper. Did that this morning, then went round and round, with the discs things on the back of the tractor and also chains, in a triangle, to flatten it all up. Now sure if the discs were still going into the land or not, sorry. It was raining, so I didn't go out.

Looks a superb job.
