Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 16 Oct 2024, 07:02

Good morning.

We had some rain through the night. :Hi:

Broken sunshine and very mild at 25°. :D

Off for a walk to finish at the hairdresser for my monthly snip...how quickly these come round! :D

Back to happily read and relax as we have a very busy few days coming up. :P

TV tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Ater a very wet day yesterday, today should be dry. Not that warm at 22C and a little windy too.

No shopping this morning, friends coming up from the Algarve

Debby and her husband run the Alerta charity, which helps the bombeiros, with food, clothing and also gives us notification of fires during the summer months. She was with the British ambassador yesterday and is down with a bump today, coming up to see us  They wanted one of those 1,000 litre water containers, much in use by the farmers. In the Algarve, the cost has shot up to 200€ Still 90€ here, so they'll get one in the back of the van, then we'll head off to lunch

Going to Jan and Joquinha's new restaurant. Been open about six weeks, so thought we'd better show our faces ;) We've got a little present for the restaurant, we bought in Evora.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s damp and dreary here although a bit milder. I’m still struggling with the remnants of my cold/sinus thing, think I will do a steam inhalation today, nose not blocked but everything tastes yuk and I have a lingering vague headache. One big wash in the machine, and a big pile of summer clothes to be worked through in coming days - I did put a lot away yesterday and took out a lot of warmer clothes including my lovely fluffy dressing gown. I need to buy and post a 70th birthday card, and also take out some money. Edward is doing stuff in the kitchen.

Morning all :D

Nice and sunny 8-)

Ed's dental apppointment went well, he's very pleased with the result.

We're popping over to Westwood Cross in the next hour or so. Boots are doing an over 60's event day so we might just as well take advantage of any discounts available.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon.
A dreary day here, damp and misty but not cold.
We have been to do a bit of shopping. MrsC will go to the library this afternoon.
I had a lie in; couldn't get to sleep last night.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Afternoon all :)

Another rainy day here :cute: Went to town to have a cuppa with my friend J, bumped into Becky afterwards so we had a bite of lunch together :) Got the bus home, as it was far too miserable to walk.

Love to all xxx

Interesting menu in the new restaurant, very different from the norm, which is what they wanted.

Lovely little touches, but it all felt a little off. No idea why.

I had goat stew, which was okay and the Grumpy one had a steak, with flat chips (bit too thin) and an egg. He asked for a medium and got a rather well done one. Think I might have liked it that way, but he wasn't going to share  The flavour, apparently, was gorgeous.

But we got a free pud, two small bits to share.

Always difficult, what to leave as a tip, when its friends, so we settled on just over 10 per cent.

Went to the bar, for another half of wine, and the heavens opened  So had to have another one, while we waited

Now on water ;)
