Good morning Saturday

Postby Ally » 07 Sep 2024, 04:29

Good morning.

Silly me for thinking it was cooling down slightly as we're back up to 34° today. 8-)

I'll have a swim soon then get ready to go and pick a friend up to take her to the airport as she's off to Australia to visit her son for a month. :P

Reading by the pool this afternoon. :D

TV tonight and a Chinese takeaway. :)

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sun is out, the wind has gone but it's quite cool out there at the moment. Not that warm later, either, at 28C.

I have a pile of ironing to get through and general pootling this morning. Meeting friends down at the bar later.

Curry for dinner - first one for a while ;)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Ally, Janb and anybody else who is up.

Still only 18C with lots of grey clouds but no rain yet.
I hope to plant some crocus bulbs today. Most of my bedding plants are dying so I can take them up.

Am expecting a parcel. Evri ae delivering it. The courier is a lovely lady and I always give her a good report.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all :)

Al, I hope your friend has a great time in Oz, Becky's having nice early Spring weather in Adelaide at the moment :) xx

We're having curry tonight too, Jan :D xx

My bedding plants are starting to die off too, Cruiser, but my beautiful front door hanging basket is still going strong :) xx

It's rained here last night. We're meeting Em and Dave for breakfast as Dave is starting to get out and about now, after his knee replacement, but the venue will depend on whether it brightens up at all over the next hour ;)

My brother-in-law and his wife are up from Somerset today, so we will pop round this afternoon to see them, but have to leave Fraggle here when we do, as they bring their big Hungarian Vizla dog with them, and he's not terribly friendly :cute: In fact he's completely bonkers. I wouldn't have a dog like that, and I certainly wouldn't bring it to the home of a frail 87 year old, but it's not my call

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning, the sun has just made an appearance here.

Off to North Wales once the sausage rolls for the beach picnic have cooled, hopefully it’ll be fish and chips at the seaside for our tea
Joe stayed at his mate Ryan’s house in Stafford last night. It was Ryan’s birthday so they’d gone out in the town, can’t have been too lively a night though as they’ve both just headed off to the nearby Parkrun. They need to keep the training going as they’re off to Majorca for a few days next month to run in the half marathon there :?

Cruiser you’ve reminded me that I need some more Spring bulbs!

Oh goodness Kaz, there used to be a Vizla around the corner which would be let off it’s lead and allowed to run anywhere in the woods. They had absolutely no control of it and it was a worry, Bill was scared of it as it’d just very quickly run from anywhere. Not a dog I’d choose either and certainly not one to have around an elderly lady :(

Have a good day all :)

Have a lovely day, Jo :Hi:

That dog's a dratted nuisance. D is extremely careful around it, so I know it makes her nervous although she would never say so - when we're there at the same time I watch it like a hawk! it doesn't frighten me, but I worry for her. Luckily they only visit a few times a year.....

Mick's other brother J won't have it in the house, as my sister-in-law J is nervous of big dogs, plus he now has two small grandchildren who are very often there. It has bitten before, personally I would have had it put down by now but it's never been reported - it nipped Mick once

My friend Emma's daughter has two Vizlas, but they're both big daft things - extremely well trained, but crucially get a huge amount of exercise as Soph has horses so is always out in the countryside - the dogs run alongside when she rides :)

Morning all, it’s hazy here with the sun doing its best to break through. There is a maritime festival here this weekend, so I hope it stays dry, last year the weather was gorgeous. I‘ve put on a wash, trying to keep up with it in case I have a couple of dodgy days next week after the injection in my knee - so glad I don’t have to have a knee replacement. I have to pop up to the chemist to collect my prescriptions, they were waiting for one of them to come in yesterday. Otherwise no real plan for the day.

Miss Osc and family are going to the Ireland -v- England soccer match this evening. There have been huge security arrangements put in place because of the dreadful rioting by England fans in Dublin back in 1995. Since then there has only been one friendly between the two countries which thankfully passed off without incident. Keir Starmer is here this weekend on his first official visit to Dublin and he and our Taoiseach will be at the match. Edward and Miss Osc were at that match in 1995, this was before mobile phones, and although I knew he would make sure they were safe, I was very stressed until they got home. Even now, Edward says it was very scary.

Jo, enjoy the picnic!

Morning all :D

We didn't get the promised rain yesterday and it's nice and bright today.

We were up and out extra early, went to M&S, needed a good stock up. Also had a return to make, but we were still there and back in less than an hour. Think we'll make a habit of going early Saturday, means we get everything we go for, often find the eat by dates are too short on Thursdays.

More Paralympics, Team GB are brilliant, it's been a joy to watch.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon.
It's just gone dark here after a bright morning.
The trouble with Hungarian Vizla dogs is that they need lots and lots of exercise to run their energy off, as they are very very lively.
Motorcycles later on TV and a trip to M&S and that will be about it. Jen, yes it does pay to look at the best by date in M&S, They often sell goods at full price even on the day the best before runs out.
Have a nice day everyone.
