Llandudno is where we’re thinking of heading Crommers, I’ve never been there. I’ve been to Conwy once years ago but Rhyl was where we often headed when we were kids. It was either Rhyl, Blackpool or Weston for a day trip.
We took the lads to Rhyl for the day around 15 years ago and it was a right dump. Such a shame as it was a lovely proper seaside town years ago but I believe there’s been some investment recently though. My friend Sara lived in a council house here and around 10 years ago was offered a move to Rhyl through some scheme where councils move people out to an area with available homes to free up space on their own waiting list and she loves it there. The beach is only 200 yards away from her house at the end of her road.

Saundra, I can’t see that his council provide anything like that. The webpage says that they offer a service but it says you have to go to Redditch council’s page (no idea why, Redditch is miles the other side of Birmingham) and when you click on the link it provides it says the info can’t be found.
My Nan had the pull cords that connected her to an operator and we were forever pulling the one in the bathroom by mistake thinking it was the light pull cord, because it had been installed right by the door where as the light cord was behind the door

Jo I got mine through a social worker before I came home from, hospital I think it nearly £300a year
I just get a bill every year from council place
Expect its social service in hull
Has your dad got hand rail up the stairs
Does he need a zimmer frame I have one down, stair and up stairs I got all my stuff via hospital before I was allowed home
Perhaps your doctors can point you in the right direction

He’s got the handrail that’s always been there, he’s pretty steady on his legs so isn’t needing a frame. He still takes himself off for walks, and the one alarm I’ve found has a GOS tracker on it which could be useful with him being out and about. That’s through Age UK and costs £99 upfront and then it’s £22 each month.
The problem I can see with a lot of them is that they have a base unit which needs connecting to a phone socket and also to a power socket and he hasn’t got an electrical socket in the same room as his phone or a phone socket in the living room.

Hi jo yes my unit I connected to my land line in the front room with a unit . Upstairs of just got a land line by my bed I just press the thing on my wrist and it active my phone
I would say the tracker on his phone sounds ideal because he could use it any where it's a problem as we get old take care

Really glad Joe has a nice new gf, Jo :) I wish D would agree to a personal alarm, like your dad has. Remember me posting about it ages ago? We still haven't managed it

I do remember. This has taken time too Kaz, they’re far too independent aren’t they.
It surprised me when we went around last week and he asked me to look into it.
