Good morning Tuesday

Postby Osc » 27 Aug 2024, 05:02

Morning all, we are at the airport where it is pretty busy. We’ve had our first breakfast and will have a proper one in Bills in Southampton. Hopefully the weather is nice there and we’ll decide what to do with the day once we’ve checked in to the hotel. The woman ahead of us when we were getting tea/coffee and croissants asked for a double brandy  and Burger King was full, really don’t get that at 5.30am!

Morning Osc, morning everyone

Just getting light and we should have another lovely, warm day 8-)

Have a lovely time Osc, safe travels. Burger or brandy at this time of the morning is a no from me.

Off to the doctors, so I can make an appointment for Grumpy. The system has changed, yet again, and not sure if we have a family doc or not, so better to be safe and quicker and just go there stupid early and wait until they open at 8.00.

Back for breakfast, then we will have to take some baby cuttings off the agaves. Our neighbours have been eaten by the beetle, that just eats them from the inside. The only way to kill it off is to burn it and just cannot risk that at this time of year. So we will probably lose all our lovely agaves.

This afternoon, I will drive Grumpy over to the docs and we will probably have a beer or two on the way back.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you-re doing xx

Good morning everybody.

There is sunshine but it is still only 18C.

Osc, safe travels. Having brandy at that time is a waste of a very good drink. You should just sip it in the evening after a good meal.

JabB Hoe your doctors appointment goes well.

I am moving things in the kitchen today. I am having a new window fitted. There is one set of drawers which is on wheels, I will also have to
move one dining chair and a small couch. The window fitters are coming at 8 00 a.m so may not post tomorrow.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all. It’s dry and sunny at times, still breezy but hopefully the washing will dry before the rain that’s forecast starts.

Already had a call from Joe, minutes after the Oasis tour was announced, to plan for trying to get tickets on Saturday. Emphasis on trying. The conclusion we came to is that we’ll go anywhere, not sure we have much chance of getting tickets though. Both lads have grown up listening to them from when they were babies.

No plans today apart from a post-weekend clean around. We haven’t been home much, yesterday afternoon we drove over to Bridgnorth in Shropshire, just the other side of Wolverhampton. Hadn’t been there for years, it’s such a lovely town.

Have a good day all :)

Got there at 7.15 and I was second in the queue

His appointment is for 2.20 this afternoon.

Used to go to Bridgnorth a lot when I was younger Jo, lovely place.

Hello and good morning all

Osc, safe travels! And enjoy the day in Southampton - I am quite partial to a Bills breakfast; their Garden Room Veggie Breakfast is amazing!
Jan, well done on the appointment, and good luck to Grumpy. And sorry about the Agaves; is there nothing you can spray yours with to prevent a beetle infestation?
Cruiser, good luck with the new windows. I really really need to have two of mine replaced, as well as an outside door, but just don't have the money - they're so expensive sadly. So need to save up and do one at a time
Jo, good luck with the Oasis tickets - wonder if the tour really will go ahead?

A quiet wfh day for me today; well quiet workwise that is.... I think we have 75% of the people either off on annual leave or working remote this week. It'll be back to earth with a vengeance next week, so going to make the most of this week; got loads of personal bits and bobs I want / need to get on with.

Have a lovely day all x

Nope, nothing kills them off except fire. And we can't do that.

Two are ready dying  and we had to give up on trying to dig the babies up - the ground is rock hard

Morning all :D

Lovely and sunny 8-)

Blimey brandy for breakfast  Hope you have nice weather in Southampton Osc (I lived there many years ago) and have fun on the cruise.
Jan hope all goes well with Grumpy's appointment this afternoon.
Cruiser sounds as if you're in for a busy day.
Jo good luck with the tickets.
Ria hope you get everything done while it's quiet.

We had a lovely walk yesterday. We usually walk along the front harbour wall, but yesterday we walked right the way round, I haven't done that since well before lock down. What with that and the climb up Harbour Street to the shops and then the hill back to Waitrose it was a lot more than planned, but I managed really well. It's been a long haul, 10mths since my op and just 4mths ago I was beginning to wonder if the op had been worthwhile. Can't tell you how chuffed I am, beginning to feel more 'normal' every day :D :D :D

No plans for today, will be making the most of this lovely weather and sitting out in the garden.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Blimey Osc! Nervous flyer, maybe? :?: Safe travels :) xx

Hope you get the GP business sorted Jan xx

That's exciting Cruiser :) xx

Those tickets won't be easy to get, Jo! Definitely/maybe I reckon ;) xx

Ria, I reckon it will go ahead - Noel Gallagher apparently has a v expensive divorce to pay for :? xx

Jen, that's brilliant! :D xx

It's sunnyish day here. Out early for breakfast - had to give Portivo's a swerve as they had a gas leak  , so went into the nearby Nero's instead. I had yet another dental appointment as the impression they took last week wasn't right  Round to D's after that, then home. Just pegged out some washing - it's nice and blowy so should dry :)

Love to all :) xx
