Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 04 Aug 2024, 04:27

Good morning.

A very pleasant 25° forecast and a rather hot 39° in Donland.

Craig's off to the gym this morning and we're going out for brunch once he's back home and showered. :D

I'm doing a traybake for dinner and we're going to start binge watching Suspect. :D

Have a great day.

Kaz...a very happy Oz birthday to B. :cute: xxx

Good morning Ally & Janb.

It is 20C here this morning with grey clouds. It mayget warmer so will do some more gardening.

But it will be ironing first as I washed yesterday.

When I went for the paper this morning to the little Tesco there was a security guard just inside the door. The shop is well used
and staff know most of the regular customers. But I think that sign of trouble and they will shut up and lower the metal shutters.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, it’s a dull damp day here and not forecast to get much better. I have a wash on but it will have to be dried indoors. Edward was up early to watch ManU -v- Liverpool being played in America, he recorded it last night. The rest of the day will mostly be watching the Olympics, especially hoping for more Irish medals. Rhys McClenaghan’s gold was very special yesterday, he was amazing on the pommel horse and comes across as such a lovely young man. Isn’t it funny how, during the Olympics, we watch all sorts of sports that we would never watch otherwise! I’ll have my shower shortly and see where the day takes me - probably not too far from my armchair

Morning all :D

It rained for a while yesterday evening so it's a bit fresher this morning.

Everything was okay at our local shop this morning. Apparently two men armed with knives threatened the staff and stole cash from the till, hence the presence of armed police when Ed went round for the papers. The culprits can't have been very bright, the shop opens at 6am, they went in to rob it at 6.30am when there really wouldn't have been much in the till by then, probably little more than the regular float!! I'm guessing the staff must have had a good idea of who they were as although they rode off on a scooter they were caught quite quickly. Obviously the usual shop assistant, a very nice chap, was really shaken, but thankfully no one was hurt. It must have been a shock, this is a very quiet area, things like this are very rare.

More gymnastics and pool action later so we'll be glued to the box for that. You're right Osc, when the Olympics come round we watch a lot of sport we rarely see at other times. Well done to both Irish gold medal winners, swimmer Daniel Wiffen and pommel horse Rhys McClenaghan.

We've had a nice lie in so only just having brekkie. Roast chicken with salad for dinner this evening, ice cream for pud.

Hope you all have a good day xxx

Good afternoon all.
A dull day here, but not cold.
We had a little drizzle earlier but it's stopped now.
Ally, you will be losing your immunity to serious heat!
Jen, those attackers don't sound like master criminals.
Son and his g/f are coming for Sunday dinner.
Hopefully he can get my Freeview channel back on the TV! Stupid new EE box, mumble mumble.
The picture is miles better though.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Sorry the day just got away from me

Started early, with FaceTime with B to wish her a happy 29th birthday! Her employers took her out for fish and chips last night, breakfast this morning and made her a cake :D Little H decorated it for her  Thanks Ally, for her birthday wishes :)

We went out for breakfast, spent a few hours with D who’s getting over her jet lag, then home. A very busy afternoon as I really had to get on with some ironing and tidying, and Mick was working on the conservatory as it’s much cooler today. We had lamb, potato wedges and salad for dinner.

Love to all xxx
