Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 05 Jul 2024, 05:30

Good morning.

No, I'm not typing this on my flight. I'm still here.

Had a lovely day yesterday with Don and the boys and after making sure I had everything ready I showered and was in bed by 10pm.
Just gone 2am we were awoken by our dear neighbour Alba saying her husband had fallen down some stairs and could we help lift him up as he seemed ok otherwise.
Got there, helped Miguel up, and as they're both in their late 70s sat with them for a while.
Long story short, Miguel suddenly took a turn for the worse, an ambulance was called and I went with them and Don followed in the car.
His blood pressure had fallen dramatically...but he seemed much better after some treatment.
We got home just after 6am and my flight was at 7.
I'm not looking for brownie points but there was no way we could just walk away and leave them.

After a coffee (and a cuddle from Don) I've booked another flight for Tuesday morning hopefully landing early enough to then make my way to Brum. :D

As it's forecast for 42° I'll be in the pool until going out tonight to watch the footy.
I also now have four unexpected days with Don. :D

Have a great day.

Good morning Ally.
You are a good neighbour. Just relax until you get to Brum.

By then Starmer will have started to mess things up. It is going to be an interesting time.

Only 17C when i got up. Still some grey clouds but a bit of blue sky.
Going to Chorley this morning on the bus. They are now painted yellow. The company is now known as BEE and operates
in the Greater Manchester area.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning both, morning everyone

Well done Ally, would have done exactly the same. Hope he gets much better soon and Alba is okay too xx Such a worry, as we get older.

Well, much cooler, by 4C today

Will get some cleaning done before it gets too hot and then for the pool, to cool down.

Meeting a friend from England at the bar later. Odd story, he is the ex-boyfriend of Mitchell's daughter who died a couple of years ago. Comes over to see Mitch every year, met him a couple of years ago and such a lovely man. He was in a car accident many years ago and is paralysed from the chest down, but so very positive.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're soing xx

Good morning all.
Sunny and breezy here.
Ally, you're a good 'un. I hope you get your flights sorted.
We need to get the shopping done and tonight get put through the torments of the damned by watching England play football.
Wish we could have a little bit of your sunshine Jan. Cruiser, I've read about those buses.
Have a good day everyone.

I've booked a flight for Tuesday morning Crommers. :D

You're a bit premature with your torments. :D
Aren't England playing tomorrow?

Morning all, it’s a dull one.

Had an early walk with Bill, puffa jacket still being worn but at least it’s my lightweight one and not my full on blimey it’s freezing thick Winter one which I needed one morning last week.

The Tesco order is coming shortly, and then I’ve got a hair cut booked. It hasn’t been cut since last Autumn (apart from the fringe I cut myself - waiting to be told off for that as she refused to cut one last time I went as she said I’d only grow it out again  ).

Joe’s off today as he’s worked extra hours this week. He came home yesterday from working away and had a hellish long journey back due to an accident on the M5.

Crommers, you’ve got a couple of matches later to watch.
Tom’s invited us over tomorrow at 5 along with my Dad, my sister and her husband and he arranged it before the match was decided. I’ll just have to cheer the Swiss on from his sofa rather than mine :P (ABE - Anyone But England). There’ll only be me and my Dad interested. My sister often wonders how we’re so different. Even as kids we were polar opposites - she cooked, sewed, knitted, had ballet lessons, played the piano and violin (not at the same time) and I was basically running around with the lads on the street and coming home covered in mud

Best wishes to your neighbour Al.

Have a good day all :)

Morning all :D

The rain's finally stopped, hope the sun comes out to play.

Best wishes for your neighbour Ally.

Usual wash day for us, Ed's been going through his summer wardrobe, but looking out of the window I'm not sure how much of it will be needed, so we have a couple of extra washes today. I really should check it for him, he always leaves everything till the last minute!!

Hope you all have a good day xx
